I've had a boxed cake mix (Angel Food) in my pantry so I decided to make it today. I used my Mom's non stick bundt pan. Great pan, never had a problem. Followed the directions, against my better judgement, because it said not to grease it but now it's stuck. Really stuck. Any tricks to getting it out in one piece?

Or try the opposite of @aroc3435 suggestion and put in freezer for a bit. Prior to placing in freezer, run a knife along inside of pan to break the seal of cake to side of pan. When you take pan/cake out of freezer, flip over and take a butter knife to knock loose the cake by hitting bottom and sides of pan. Cake should drop out. I have always found angel food cake to be the stickiest of cakes and a pain when it comes to cleaning pan after baking.

When using a tube pan for an Angel Food Cake, my Mom would 'grease the bottom only' of the tube pan then place a cut-out piece of wax paper in the bottom of pan. Gently spread the Angel Food Cake batter in and bake/invert/remove per instructions.

It would be my excuse for strawberry shortcake. Just dig out chunks of that cake (no pretty slices required) and top with strawberries and fresh whipped cream. A favorite, I only allow myself to have once a year.

I have never made an angel food cake..but I haven't had a cake stick in years.

Sounds weird but it works every time for me:

After the cake is ready to come out of the oven...put the pan on hot wet paper towels or a wet kitchen towel..and let it sit..Before it's too cold..just turn the pan over.

Great tip, @Jo1313 !

I would have suggested, try loosening all sides of the cake with a flexible spatula.

But as already recommended, I always butter/flour non-stick cake pans, cool on wire rack, then tip over.
