I brown the cube steaks and then put in my slow cooker with peppers, sweet onions and garlic salt, worcestershire and tomato sauce. Let it slow cook all day and serve over rice or sometimes I will serve sour dough rolls and make a sandwhich with it. Very delicious.

In this house, cube steak is browned quickly, topped with a lid and steamed till done, white gravy is made in that skillet and served with hot biscuits, fried apples or fried peaches.

I'm sorry, but, I have to agree with those who have said that your dish does not look good. Cube steak is just tough, I don't care how you cook it or what you cover it with.

DH makes cube steak that is delicious. He is picky about where to buy this cut of meat and goes to the market that only sells meat and what he gets is not tough or gristly.

Browns it in flour then bakes it. Uses canned cream of mushroom soup and a package of Liptons beefy onion soup to make the gravy he bakes it in. It comes out tender and delicious. I am not really much of a beef eater but I do love his cube steak and mashed potatoes.

DH isn't crazy about them, but every now and then I love a good cube steak seasoned and fried in butter, and topped with lots of grilled onions. But I'd happily eat it with your peppers and mushrooms too @ECBG .

Tring to create a "clean" meat" that isn't covered with gravy, I have started to fix cube steak this way.

Cube steak

2-3 bell peppers, red, yellow, green washed and cut.

    I cut the pepper into 1/4 th pieces vertically which I cut in half.

1 sweet onion cut into thin slices.

Fresh sliced mushrooms.

In a sprayed frying pan, place the full slices of onion, sprayed with olive oil until browning.

Transfer to paper towel lined bowl.

Add the cut up peppers, cook until browned: add another paper towel to the bowl and add cooked peppers.

In a sprayed frying pan, add cube steak. Add a few drops of Worcestershire sauce and soy.

Cook turning until almost done.

Warm peppers in the microwave and add to the frying pan with the meat.

Delicious!

@elated

As you can see, the vegies hold shape. I cooked them not to crunch.

@elated

How about YOU spare US? Why should anyone need to "justify it" to you, when it comes to how they like their food?

And Gordon Ramsey is a douche, have you looked at the ratings for his restaurants?

Hope you don't fall off that high horse you're on.......

Alex Guarnaschelli corrected Jeffery Zacahrian (both Iron Chefs) on the Kitchen when he said you should have your guests try their steak rare to medium rare and they will never go back. Alex then said guests will be polite but most people prefer their meat medium well to well done.

Never ate raw meat on purpose. Do not want it to look like it has a heart beat. Most people eat their food full cooked... there is some weird group that like you to think it's elite when you see blood and want every else to eat it that way also, very cult like. It seems heathenish and unhealthy.

No thank you.... want to make sure there is no heart beat.

I also love tender vegetables. Exceptions would be in salads and pasta salads, salsas or raw veggies for dip.
