$98 Was Not Bad For What I Got.

We took a day trip yesterday and went to a favorite deli in central PA .

I got ,

2 lbs. ground chuck - 2 to 3 meals from it

2 large bone in pork chops - dinner tonight

1.5 lbs. hot Italian sausage - 2 meals

2 whole boneless/skinless chicken breasts - 2 or 3 meals

2 lbs. bacon - 2 or 3 meals plus some for baked beans

2.5 lbs big link breakfast sausage - 3 or 4 meals

2 kinds of cold cuts

lettuce

2 tomatoes

loaf of bread

I will freeze everything but chops (dinner tonight) and 1 of the chicken breasts (tomorrow's dinner).

I don't think $98 bucks was bad for what I got.

Oh, a bonus, we found gas for $3.99 a gal. Every other gas station was $4.25 to $4.45.

Isn't is sad when you get excited about gas being under $4 a gal.

@aroc3435 Thanks. I call an order the day before and they have it all ready to go when we get there. Of course we always see something else that looks good. Great meats, salads, pastries etc.

You have a good weekend too . I assume you are naking like we are.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 I am just puttering around the townhouse trying to tidy up.

Tomorrow I will be packing since I am taking an Amtrak Acela on Monday morning to visit the Connnnecticut shoreline--first return visit since August, 2018.

It should be at least ten degrees cooler there--not that I am complaining, even during these heat waves we've been having. I adore spring and summer.

Stay cool with daughter and your lovely cats--Miss Petunia and company. And may your infamous brutish neighbor stay far away. Always enjoy reading your posts.

DD had Thurs. and Fri. off. Petunia is following DD around like a dog. Right behind her going from room to room.

Neighbor must have moved the cows or got rid of them. Haven't seen them and no cows in my yards for a good 3 weeks.

DD took Amtrak to New Orleans years ago . She loved it.

Gas in New Jersey today is 4.29 a gallon, it's going down, but, not enough!

We had the AC cranked up to igloo in the HRV.

I had never been to the Sunbury area of Pa. Traffic was insane.

Was that a Sheets ? where you got the gas ....

I know people that go to Pennsylvania to pick up meats on a regular basis.

@Cookie2025 No, it wasn't a Sheetz. It was a small convenience store about 20 miles from our house. DD drives that way to work and she said they are always somewhat lower.

When she came home from work Wednesday night gas there was $4.24, Friday am about 9:00am it was $3.99.

I'd say you went to a meat market. What we call a deli here in the upper Midwest is a place that sells a lot of pre-made salads. You got a lot for your money.

@AuntG It is a deli. They have potato, macaroni salads. Tuna, chicken and ham salads. Baked beans, home made soups etc.

It is a small place. Wall to wall great food. They have been around for nearly 50 yrs. I think.
