DD had to run an errand and called to see if I needed anything before she heads home.

Since we had a late breakfast I am having her bring me a sundae from our favorite ice cream stand. Trying something new, one of their speciality sundaes, The King.................peanut butter and banana w/twist ice cream.

Yep, being bad today.

Ice cream, in any form, with any topping is an approporate meal replacement in addition as a treat or snack. Same can be said for pizza

I just had a big piece of leftover Dairy Queen birthday ice cream cake we served a few days ago for our adult son. The ice cream cake is fudge brownie, with chocolate ice cream. Now, there is this: I sliced up some fresh, local strawberries in season and put them over the ice cream cake. Heaven, I'm in heaven! Also, it was nutritious, right? With all those fresh strawberries?

Ice Cream heaven for me was when DD worked summers of her high school jr and sr years at Baskin Robbins. All the Jamoca Almond Fudge I wanted, and it's still my favorite.

@maximillian , the first time I had Dairy Queen ice cream cake was when my niece graduated law school on her birthday. I picked up the cake. It was 31 degrees Celsius (low 90's F) the day she graduated. We left the cake out in her packed up apartment and it melted somewhat but it was sooo good.

Imthink I will get one this summer. Such an easy dessert and everyone loves it! LM

@ValuSkr The closest DQ is 35 miles from here. The place we frequent is a small family owned place that has been around for 50 years.

The soft serve is great and their food is good and reasonably priced.

DD and I can each get a chili dog, split a serving of fries (it is a lot of fries) and a drink for less than 1 McDonalds meal.

The sundae was great but there 1/2 of it is in the freezer. I said a small. Well, the speciality sundaes come in one size. That thing was in a plastic container than you would get deli potato salad in. The 16 oz. size. Two people could have shared it.
