Any recommendations are welcome! I only need it for light weights. One I looked at weighed up to 22 lbs, but reviews said it was not so accurate on lighter things.

So far I've determined I probably need a waterproof one, probably stainless is better.

I just don't want to get one home and discover using it in one way or another is not the best. There are thousands of them out there!!

Thanks!

I use my Braun food scale almost everyday and love it. Apprently it is considered "vintage" ... kind of like me.

This one on Amazon is close to what I had, except this is digital. It comes in red or stainless. What I like about these is you can measure small amounts, which is what I needed. This one below, you can put on your own bowl and zero out the wt of bowl, yadda yadda.

Etekcity 0.1g Food Scale, Bowl, Digital Grams and Ounces for Weight Loss, Dieting, Baking, Cooking, and Meal Prep, 11lb/5kg, Stainless Steel Red

Buy one according to range of weight you'll need it for. In other words, if you only need to weigh stuff of less than 10 pounds then don't buy a scale made to measure stuff weighing in the 20-pound range. Buy one close, in weight range, to the weight of stuff you'll be weighing. In some cases people have more than one scale. One to weigh the lighter stuff and another to weigh the heavy things. It will be more accurate that way.

I bought a very inexpensive ($12.80 with tax) Kuluner digital scale last June that's astonishingly accurate (down to 0.1 grams.) It's no longer available on Amazon, but it's a great little scale. I use it all the time and it's been great. Don't be too afraid of the "no-name" scales. I wasn't really expecting much from this scale, but it's been great. I use it all the time now instead of my more expensive and much older scale.

@HerRoyaLioness - I've been using an Ozeri scale for almost 10 years—I bought it for about $10 on Amazon back then, and it has stayed around that price all this time, picking up thousands of 4-star and 5-star ratings along the way. It is very accurate and is always my recommendation for a simple/small kitchen scale, so many of my family members and friends now have one (and I even have a backup just in case). Good luck with your search!

Ozeri Pronto Digital Multifunction Kitchen and Food Scale, Original

ETA: I see that this scale now comes in a variety of colors, which is fun. When I bought mine (apparently called the "Original" at this point), there was only this silver color and white.
