Baking Championship shows

I have to stop watching these championship shows on the Food network. I get such a craving for sweets....LOL I think the Kids championship show is my favorite. It just amazes me how they know their baking!

Anyone else enjoy these shows?

They hold no appeal for me. I like a show that is pleasant and you learn something, and to me there are pretty much about personality rather than what they actually do.

yes, I love those shows too and am amazed at the kids and how well they do---I could never bake anything successfully without a recipe--only thing is, I can't stand the host on the spring baking show--her name is Sunny---she drives me crazy---don't watch her anytime she is on-----

@wagirl , That's how I feel about Nancy Fuller, she is obnoxious !

I used to watch Food Network channel quite a bit, now I only watch the baking championships and the kids championship. The other shows I'm quite tired and bored with the same judges and chefs. Always look forward to Monday nights and the baking shows.

I'm not a baker nor have much of a sweet tooth so all the baking shows hold no interest for me. However, I try to watch the kids baking show as they're so cute and so talented.

I can take 'em or leave 'em. They never inspire me to copy their recipes since I never eat sugar or traditional flours. The decorating is what I enjoy if I watch at all.

I think the only one I'm watching these days is the kid one with Duff and Val. I really like both of them a lot and, 99% of the time, the kidlets who compete are so lovely and supportive, and massively talented. It's a fun show.

That says a lot because I tend to NOT watch shows that are kid-centric at all. This one is very different for me. I really enjoy the little ones and share in their sadness when one of them is eliminated.

Tha baking show with Sunny has the baker's performing all sorts of childish stunts.

@Knit-Chick I especially enjoy the kid's championships because the children are so talented and dedicated, and yet they are kind and supportive. I watch the regular adult seasonal baking championships but don't like the special shows like the Easter one with Sunny. It's too gimmicky. The British baking championship is great because it teaches you how to bake.

I don't watch FN anymore unless I catch an episode of Barefoot Contessa. She is so comfortable in her kitchen set.

No Contessa would ever compete! They have arrived.

@PA Mom-mom Isn't that so true about the kids! if one runs into trouble, others will drop what they're doing to help. It's very genuine and sweet. I need to check out the Britsh baking show.

I know where you are coing from. My DH and I like to watch The Food that Built America on the history channel. It gives the history of how certain food companies came to be. Each week they target a different food or drink and last night we watched the history of doughnuts by watching the rise of Krispy Kreme and Dunkin. Of course, today on my usual Dunkin run I had to forego my usual iced tea and get iced coffee and a sour cream doughnut!

I enjoy the Kids Baking Shows the best and like Duff and Val as judges.....the kids are quite amazing and very creative.....

The Spring Baking with Molly Yeh as host, is OK, but Nancy the judge always seem like and flirt with the male contestants....🙄

I dont like the Easter Spring which has become gimmicky with things like sack races and all.....not a fan of Sunny either....
