My 'range' stopped working and I bought a convection oven to be delivered in mid December. I really wanted a standard oven but the wait time was off the charts ! If you have a convection oven, do they make a lot of noise? Do you regret buying it? I can always cancel my delivery and get a refund if I decide to within the next few days. Thank you.

TO CLARIFY: I am referring to a ''full size range'', one that sits on the floor. Thank you for your replies.

@sarahpanda Are you asking about a convection oven that's part of a regular oven or about a countertop oven, like a Breville? My wall oven is a standard oven with the capability to be used as a convection oven. When setting the oven, I can select between baking with or without convection. I can't remember the last time I used the convection function. Honestly, I'd have to read the manual to find out when to use convection. However, the regular bake function works just fine without convection.

I have friends who swear by their Breville countertop ovens. Like @Kachina624 , they're only cooking for one or two people. These ovens are slightly bigger than a toaster oven, but they've got better "baking power" than a toaster oven. I don't think my friends bake cakes in them - they mainly use them for meal preparation. Hope this helps.

My oven can be used as a convection or regular oven. It makes the adjustments for temperature and cook time automatically. Convection ovens only save time for foods that need a longer cooking time, like turkeys or other large cuts of meat.

I have a full size GE range with convection fan. It made a squeaking noise but called repair to fix it. No problem with noise since. Although you can still hear the fan run, but not disturbing. I asked repair why I need to rearrange cookie sheets to get an even bake. He said it is not a "true convection oven" whatever that means. But I do think it browns nicely and in a little shorter time than regular oven. Can't imagine regretting the purchase especially since it's available in your time frame.

My 20 year old oven had the air feature in it--never used it but it was something that was a separate button to push and it was quiet as I did turn it on to see what it did. Can you find the type of oven you bought and look it up to see if it always on or a feature you just turn on when you want it?
