When it did fall out, chunks of cake were stuck to the bottom of the skillet and he made some excuse about how easy it is to clean and then stuck it under the counter saying something about putting it in the dishwasher and they just dismissed it and went on with the show. Strange they didn't try to wipe it out with the wet towel he used earlier. I was going to buy a set until this happened. Doesn't look reliable to me.

I watched that for a few minutes. Thought that what I saw left in the pan was just a bunch of sugary stuff that would no doubt have come right out with a wet towel or in the sink. As for the eggs, I only saw two, and once interrupted, that segment would have been silly to revisit. Besides, I always use a tiny bit of butter when frying eggs - IMHO it improves the taste.

Not saying Emeril is perfect, or that his pans are either. But I think I'd try the pans before I'd pan them. No pan pun intended. What you see on television isn't necessarily gospel.

I have to add something to depglass. Pots and pans can be a dime a dozen, but a good husband is really hard to find. I think I'd forget Emeril's pans and concentrate on clearing out this "stuff" that offends your DH.

DH says he's had it with my cookware all over the place. It spews out of the cupboards and even the extra storage in the oven. The four quart helper handle piece is really calling my name. No one does helper handles until five quart and that size is just too big for daily use for two people. Unfortunately QVC has pretty much quit doing open stock. Too bad its not Christmas, I could sneak this in as a supposed gift for DD. Right now I'd be risking divorce.

Oh no! Could you get it if you agreed to get rid of an equal number of pieces you already have? Or maybe it could be an early Mothers Day or birthday gift to you? Good luck!

I'm starting by making a pile for St. Vinny's. I keep the older beat up stuff in a cabinet in the basement for emergencies. But that never happens, I just buy new. Its all going into a box today. Maybe my conscience will be clear by the end of the day. He says the same thing about the dishes. We built this house 8 years ago and everything fit into the cupboards perfectly. But I'm an antiquer, so the depression glass and Fiesta is piling up, too. I am just plain compulsive, I never met a dish, glass, or pan I didn't like.

It really is a shame they've gotten away from open stock pieces. I guess the profit margin is higher with sets. This looks like decent cookware. I wish they still carried the Technique Hard Anodized II line of hard anodized. That was their best ever. It was every bit as good as any national brand.

I really wish they would stop saying that you can put your nonstick in the dishwasher. Good grief, it's not that hard to just wash out a piece in the sink, dry it, put it away, and be done with it. But if you put nonstick in the dishwasher it WILL end up destroying it.

I have some pieces of Calphalon Unison hard anodized and that is a very nice line, also. They have other, lesser, lines. But I like the Unison line.

Exactly right about the dishwasher killing the nonstick pans, chicken but. It's much easier to put them through the sink.

I've never had a problem with nonstick in the dishwasher. I should correct that, I've never had a problem with the non-stick part in the dishwasher. If it doesn't say dishwasher safe, the grey outer shell will turn white on you eventually. Enamels will fade out to a white pastel. I never cook anything without some sort of oil or fat, at least a tiny bit. I honestly don't expect eggs to slide out with no fat.

I have both emeril's cookware and all clad. All clad may make emeril's cookware, but they are really not comparable. I'm not saying emeril's are bad, just not as weighty and not made in the usa like all clad. Of course emeril's cookware is not as expensive either. Just don't spend 159.00 and expect to get all clad quality, you will be disappointed.

On 2/19/2014 chickenbutt said:

Me too on the Technique chickenbutt. I have a couple of those pans and they are just wonderful. I really wish they would bring them back.

It was tough, but I didn't buy the set. I watched an episode of Hoarding Buried Alive last night on purpose. I realize I am a cookware hoarder, also a dinnerware hoarder. I still have a set of Robert Lee Morris turquoise dinnerware under my bed. It has the free flowing square lines of his tablet ring. DH didn't care for it, but I don't have the heart to get rid of it. So I will wait for a couple years and maybe Emeril will have another set down the road.
