Yes, I've watched the show since it first aired in 2009 with Ted Allen as Host . I don't know how the Chefs can fgure out what to make with some of the strange ingredients.

I think the worst baskets were the ones Alton Brown put together for the Chefs.

Years ago , I went to a food and wine event in Baltimore that was hosted out of a historic building .

I'm sure that many of these cooking shows give competitors days or weeks to come up with recipes they cook within a pre determined time limit. On the Great British Baking Show some contestants have alluded to trying out their recipes dozens of times prior to show (makes sense).

I'm one who doesn't think they are given info ahead on what's going to be in the baskets so they can formulate a plan.

I can't stand Alton Brown nor the guy, he's a chef but sometimes acts as a judge........going blank on his name, Robert something or other, big muscled arms, has a show where he helps/rescues restaurants in trouble. Think he's married to a female Asian wrestler. Unless I dreamed that last statement.

Oh Irvine....Robert Irvine.

I'm sorry but I just can't watch it amy more. I never thought it was completely honest. It has run its course already, imo.

I find the other problem is so many other shows are based on this same premise...Bar b que Brawl, the Brothers, Beat Bobby Flay, all the cake and cupcake wars, just to name a few and even the new show about Ben and Jerrys ice cream. It's time to either get some old shows or go back to the way it was in the beginning. Honest chefs cooking real meals with the recipes available. This goes for the food network and the cooking chanel.

I also think some of these chefs have more time, infuence and shows on both chanels such as Bobby Flay, not my favorite chef.

Some of these shows have just been on tooo long. Just look at the dates. What about Carnival Eats, My Favorite Food, Cheap Eats. I also think Kids Baking Championship is not on the level. Do these kids really know all these recipes and have all that knowledge? Plus you can see the pressure on them when they panic or cry.

Just had to get that off my chest since I use to watch these channels and am so dissapointed now in so many of these shows.

JMHO!

I really like Chopped—but for the past several months, it seems like all they're airing is "themed shows" or mini-tournaments where the baskets and tasks are so ridiculous that it's simply not entertaining to watch. I love to see a skilled chef make something out of either nothing or something so bizarre that it pushes them to their limits. When the challenge is unreasonable or leads to everyone making the same thing because there just aren't any options for creativity based on the limits of the ingredient, the show loses my interest completely.

Yeah, I never even heard of most of the things that they have to use! I love to watch cooking and baking shows and competitions! I can't wait to see the finale of Hell's Kitchen Young Guns! I thought the Bar-B-Q competition with Flay, Jackson, and Simmons was really good. I love the speciality baking shows such as for spring and halloween! So much fun! I am a big fan of the Valtagio (sp?) brothers and was happy that they got their own show! I just finished watching the series with Bobby Flay and Giada going to Italy - beautiful scenery and wonderful food! And I do enjoy the kids baking and cooking shows, also.
