After watching all the demo's on the dry food container for the Vitamix, I was wondering if anyone knows where QVC gets their whole wheat, and other grains from that he uses to grind into flour to make whole wheat bread, spelt grain, etc. Popcorn is easy but when I purchased my Vitamix I could not find a source for whole grains so I could grind my own flour. We do not have many whole food markets in our area. So does anyone have a source? An online source? I would appreciate any help that can be offered.

CFanny

Seems to me popcorn would be an awful choice for making corn flour or grits even. It isn't a variety of corn grown for that and I'd think it would have too much husk in it and not enough kernel to make good corn flour. Corn and grains are grown for very specific uses. I'd contact some mills and see if you can buy bulk grain from them. Small mills like Anson Mills and War Eagle in Arkansas.

I love bobs red mill grains. It's a great way to experiment with many different grains without committing to large quantities. Ancient grains like kamut, spelt and teff are just a couple of examples. And yes I have heard that popcorn kernels are good for grinding as well. Also Check out http://www.breadbeckers.com for larger quantities of grains and great videos on grinding your own flour.
