Mandylee, I'm right here with ya! I am convinced I must have a Vitamix, but there are so many options I don't know which is best for me. I found this comparison guide on the Vitamix website, maybe you will find it helpful: https://secure.vitamix.com/Compare-Product-Lines.aspx

I have decided for sure variable speed, but I don't know what size jar. I live alone, so I don't know if I need the 64 oz. jar. Also, being able to store it on the counter would be nice. Of course, now there is the new low-profile 64 oz. that does fit under the counter... What's a girl to do? Oh yeah, I also prefer the turquoise color which is not available on many models. Not a complete deal breaker though.

VITAMIX?

Hi

I have been on the fence for over a year about purchasing a Vitamix. I really want one. However the following is my concerns.

Of all the Vitamix's QVC has, what is the difference between them? The obvious is price, how do you know which Vitamix will be the one you need?

Any feedback would be helpful.

Thanks

I just got mine a couple weeks ago at Costco....the one they have as the TSV does not have variable speed which mine has...mine did not come with the dry container.....but don't think it is something I would use any way.....I paid $499 for mine, but it is the cadillac. Amazon has my same model for $649, so, I feel like I got a great deal.

Wow I did not notice it does not have the variable speed. Mine has that & I would want that on my Vitamix. The TS also has a 5 yr warranty. The other models except Creations on the Vitamix site come with a 7 yr warranty. You can also buy the other cookbooks & containers separate if you want them. They have the containers 20% off on Black Friday. I know that's a long way off but if you want one you could buy it later. When did they start selling the Vitamix on Q without the variable speed control? I did not even know Vitamix made them without it.

This VM is the lowest model sold. They are stating that it is a great deal with 2 containers & it is, but many of the recipes I make need a variable speed control.

I finally decided the variable speed doesn't matter to me. I can't imagine why Vitamix sells so many different models. The TSV is more than enough for what I do.

I also got mine at Costco. It has the variable speed, dry container, 2 tampers, cookbooks, etc. It was on sale for over $400.00 (can't remember exact price). The machine is a BEAST!

Vitamix makes it sooo confusing and QVC doesn't help. I spent hours trying to figure out if today's QVC was the one that I wanted. I was most concerned about the variable speed missing.

I searched all over QVC to get help. This site helped me a LOT and I thank them for walking me through the differences: http://gotgreensrevolution.com/vitamix-creations-turbo/

Ultimately I ended up going with a reconditioned 5200 which has the variable speed - for $299. I considered the option to add the dry container for $144 but didn't see the point since I'm not that interested in making flour.

The most comprehensive comparison guide I've found for the Vitamix is right here

It gives a complete run down on all the current models, places them in understandable categories, and points out the differences.
