@KingstonsMom I believe 18/0 means 18/10. Never understood why they state it like that. I had 18/8 one time and it was okay, but didn't have the heft of 18/0.

@Patriot3 @KingstonsMom 18/10 has 18% chromium content and 10% nickel. 18/0 has 18% chromium and 0% nickel.

18/10 is much higher quality, is more durable and has much more shine because of the nickel content.

About ten or so years back the price of nickel increased dramatically and many flatware producers cheapened the materials to keep lines of flatware at a particular price point. Gradually, 18/10 came back on the scene.

Thanks for the info, I was just about to look it up, you saved me the trouble, LOL!

I'm only interested in 18/10, they last and look good for decades, in my experience!

That's too bad for me, I have a lot of the coastal theme in my home, which is on an island 1 mile from the beach/ocean!

Shells I've collected, shark teeth I've collected (I even have a huge shark tooth that dates back to the age of the Megalodon!), all displayed in various displays.

Super cute. I wonder if it's hollowed out on the back or solid. I can't stand flatware that isn't solid and smooth all the way around. I recently returned some flatware because of that.

@bcherry01 For the life of me I don't know why QVC sells flatware that is sold at discount stores ( like Ollie's) and Walmart. This is not quality flatware. My DD will buy a set of this flatware when she has a lot of family visiting for the weekend and doesn't want to buy plastic.

Silversuperstore online has a few coastal and nautical sets of good quality flatware. Towle Nautical has a rope border and a little sailboat on the handle.

Towle also makes London Shell, which I think is beautiful--and not just for coastal/nautical.
