I ran into this last year too - all of the stores around here are short on canning supplies. I had planned to stock up early, but time is just flying by the older I get! I can't believe it's July already. I only need more lids and ended up having to order from Amazon, paying quite a bit more. Of course I realized this after I already have a bowl full of jalapeno peppers ready to be sliced and canned! Thank goodness for Prime delivery

Is anyone else canning something good this summer? I'm doing 'cowboy candy', which are sweet & spicy jalepenos.

@Knit-Chick I picked up my jars early. For some reason I buy new one's every year. Last year I did peach and strawberry preserves with the low sugar. I also did refrigerator pickles which were delicious.

This year pickles and tomatoes, I like the idea of jalepeno's though, I did see Aldi's have bags of them for 59 cents, I thought that was reasonable.

Good luck, I know it's a lot of work, just prepping the jars and if you do process, just waiting for those lids to pop.
