I use an electric skillet that I place on my countertop. Any splatters are easily wiped away "with a little soap and water." I only like raw bacon with a marbeling that I carefully choose. Don't like the thick lean meat kind. You do not want to be behind me at the bacon display. It takes a while.

I used to make it in the air fryer, but grease accumulated at the bottom and the coating peeled off the basket, so I threw it out. I tried 2 different ones made for the microwave, but they didn't cook evenly. My oven is used to store sheet pans etc., so I really don't want to have to use the oven, and wouldn't that get grease all over too?

Buy pre-cooked bacon. It's available in every supermarket, Also Target and Walmart. Hormel and Oscar Mayer are popular brands. Heating up fully cooked bacon is a cinch and yields no grease and takes a minutes or less. It does not produce grease to clean up. Problem solved. Worth a try.

read recent reviews of these products.

https://delishably.com/food-industry/A-Review-of-Pre-Cooked-Bacon-Products

The very end of the article emphasizes that there is no grease-all-over to manage or clean up.

Alternative is to microwave bacon with paper towels under the slices and over them. No spatter. Be careful not to overcook.

If loving bacon is the will, there is a way!

You can't escape dealing with some grease when cooking bacon. That's it's nature.

Even with foil covered sheet pans I find oven cooking can be messy. But is best and quickest if cooking large amounts. I still like pan frying the best. You need to be paying attention when cooking it, but you get the consistency you like.

Not usually a fan of microwaved bacon. I think it changes its texture. I do buy it occasionally for quick use but find most, even those called thick, to be very thin. My favorite microwaved brand is the Hormel Thick Black Label. I do not microwave it to reheat. I pan fry it.

I first learned about cooking bacon in the oven, here on this board. I gave it a go and it worked great EXCEPT it made a mess in the oven.

So I went on to change it thusly - I take a large, rimmed, baking pan and put some nonstick aluminum foil on it. Then line up the slices of bacon atop that. Then, I take a sheet of parchment paper about the size of the pan and press that onto the bacon so that it's completely covered. In the oven it goes.

No mess!
