Can anyone recommend a waffle iron? Is there a difference between Belgian & regular ones?

@Magny - I highly recommend the KRUPS Belgian Waffle Maker with Removable Plates. It is a bit pricy; I paid about $55 for it three years ago and Amazon currently has it for $80 (eek—way too much), but I've had zero problems with it and it is easy to use and bakes my waffles absolutely perfectly. It is also very easy to clean and maintain. I did a lot of research before deciding on this model, and I would buy it again if I ever needed to . . . though I'd be price shopping at other retailers due to that spike in cost at Amazon!

Presto Flipside Belgian waffle maker. We've had it for a couple of years and use it about twice a week. Perfect waffles every time and nothing sticks. Price was reasonable, too.

I, too, have had a Krups for many years and I would recommend the brand. It's one of those Belgian ones where you put in the batter, close it, then turn it over (not the whole unit, just the plate part). Works great!
