Tupperware explosion

Just saw on Inside Edition that Tupperware sales have went up 34 million bucks. Can take 8 weeks to receive order. People are crazy for it. Glad I bought mine at area flea markets, craft shows, etc.

So strange in today's climate what is selling like hot cakes. Also, by the way, Mason jars. They won't be back in stock till next yr. supposedly.

Weather is better now in Amarillo, Tx and happy to report I got out and have seen no shortages of nothing. No panic.

I'm a Lock and Lock fan. Qvc should do some more special values. They're missing an oportuinity to sell a lot.

I still have my Tupperware from the 70s. I had a party also. I made sangria got everyone a little buzzed and they bought like crazy. The rep was thrilled never had a night like that. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣❤️🍷

I wonder if they've improved it? Threw all of mine out because the lids wouldn't fit in the containers. There are a lot of people who need to know about Lock 'n Lock. It's not perfect either but it's better than the old Tupperware and a lot cheaper.

I got rid of the Tupperware AND the lock and lock, and have gone mostly to glass with some OXO pop up lid ones because the size is so great in my pantry.

And those Cambro square containers are GREAT to store loose bags of beans, cornbread mix, etc. because you can stack them up. They hold extras in my pantry.

The tupperware was old and worn and the lock and lock was that soft plastic I don't like and was beat up too. So out it went!

I've heard Tupperware from the past....is not the safest plastic....especially not good reheating.....

I have only a few pieces of Tupperware left from my purchases in the 80's. Most were tossed because of deterioration of the plastic. I no longer find it necessary to have a large number of these items.

I got "safe" plastic containers I can reheat in.

I have a large 3 bowl set from Tupperware from about 15 years ago. Takes care of cold things like pasta salad.

I have these heavy weight "safe" Rubbermade. The bottom locks onto the lids, or all of your lid of a certain size snap together.

They also come in a boxed set.

Just yesterday I emailed Tupperware because I came across a huge container without it's lid. I discarded all my Tupperware.(so I thought) I asked if I could purchase a replacement lid. It's so roomy and new looking that I'd like to use it for something non food related. Haven't heard back from them. Now I know why.

Today, Oct 29th Inside Edition did a little piece on them. Caught my eye since back in my day, the day of dinosaurs (LOL) we saw a lot of it.

Women came around selling it, etc. Bought back memories.

I bought a few pieces this yr before this corona horror started and a person could actually go to a open air market sales flea market.

Spent 50. No shipping, no waiting. I hate both. LOL

I have ALOT of Tupperware, and have accumulated so much over the years. I use all of it. Could not be without it! The replacement guarantee has won me over. No Rubbermaid product will be replaced if it cracks or peels. Love me my Tupperware!

I watch this one show that has what companies are hot, and it listed Tupperware as going through the roof! Huh? My sister and I were just discussing this a couple of weeks ago and we both said -- do they even make it any more? Neither of us had heard the name mentioned in years. I said - probably not -- because you can get so many other plastic containers much cheaper in the stores. I guess we were wrong!

Maybe they are popular again because of people being at home more and cooking more and then using them for leftovers, etc.???

Back in the day, we were constantly going to Tupperware parties! That stuff is not cheap either. The last time I moved, I gave away most of mine as I didn't need it and it took up a lot of room.

My grandma gave me a small set it the 70’s for my hope chest. Three bowls (maybe 2.5 cups) Every time I want to toss them, I think of her, and back in the cupboard they go. I never heated in them, so they are still in perfect shape. Shades of orange, gold and yellow. I just can’t part with them.

I also have two huge bowls from the 90’s. Still use the biggest one for summer picnics. It’s great for pasta salad or a huge tossed salad.

I have two sets of Tupperware soup mugs and tumblers that are well over twenty years old. I still use my 4 sets of nesting measuring cups.
But everything else was tossed when I started buying Lock&Lock.

I sold all of my tupperware at yard sales. The only new ones I've bought are their spice containers. I love the way you can use both ends of the lid, one for shaking and one for measuring. But with that said, I love the Lock and Lock spice containers, too.
