Congratulations on your new mixer! I received one this past Christmas (even though I never asked for it and after receiving it I kind of wondered whether I would really get that much use out of it). So I decided to use my new KitchenAid stand mixer for everything that I could. I used to mix my cookie dough by hand but now it is so much fun to just throw all the ingredients in the mixing bowl and turn it on! I've mixed up pizza crust dough and even made a lemon meringue pie. I don't know what you should make first but I just wanted to say - have fun!

Make a small loaf of bread to try that out. After you get that set to rise, wash the bowl and make a cake! Put the cake in the oven. THEN wash up and make a meatloaf. After all of that is risen and baked, you can then use the clean bowl and flat beater to make the cake icing in the mixer. Use a stick of softened butter, a box of powdered sugar, a pinch of salt, a tsp of vanilla and cocoa powder if you want.

Your family will be in shock at all this good food! And you will have a whole afternoon of fun with the mixer!

The first thing I made in my new KitchenAid stand mixer back in 1978 was home-made mayonnaise...it was SO good!

Congratulations on your new mixer!! I have had my KA mixer for at least 15 years. I love it. When my boys were younger I baked a lot. Oatmeal and Chocolate Chip cookies. I baked cakes and cupcakes. Mixing meatloaf is so easy! I have wanted to buy the KitchenAid KPRA Pasta Roller Attachment set and I finally broke down and bought it right after Christmas. I am having so much fun making homemade fettuccine and spaghetti. It is so easy and fresh pasta tastes so much better than pasta in the box. There are a lot of things you can make with your mixer. My KA mixer is my favorite kitchen appliance.
