      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;I noticed Great American Seafood Imports shrimp skewers on Gourmet Holiday. &amp;nbsp;New vendor? &amp;nbsp;When I looked at the nutritional info it says shrimp and &lt;STRONG&gt;SODIUM TRIPOLYPHOSPHATE &amp;nbsp;&lt;/STRONG&gt;and salt. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;Then I looked at other shrimp product vendors on QVC. &amp;nbsp;Same with shrimp from Anderson's Seafood. &amp;nbsp;And Egg Harbor.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;So would/do you eat shrimp that has&amp;nbsp;SODIUM TRIPOLYPHOSPHATE?&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;It's used to retain moisture in fish and seafoods.&amp;nbsp; Anyone with kidney disease should avoid it, but then I doubt they'd be ordering much from QVC anyway.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;California lists it - &lt;EM&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;in large quantities&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/EM&gt; - as a pesticide and air contaminant.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I don't think there's any reason for hysteria.&amp;nbsp; (Or ALL CAPS.)&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Also known by alternate names like pentasodium salt or triphosphoric acid, the substance falls into the classification Generally Regarded As Safe (GRAS), which means that past use of the chemical has presented no risk to health. I wen on to look at other sites and saw more of the same. If the shrimp has been frozen, the company will use this stuff. I'm sick of all the chemicals in our food. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
