Can you please tell me what you use your Vitamix for, please? Other than making soups or smoothies I'm at a loss. I've had my Vitamix for years and I never use it. Please no sarcastic comments, I'm serious. TIA

I'm so terrible! I hardly ever use mine. That doesn't mean it's not a great machine. It is and the company matches that.

When I was using it more, one of my favorite thing (we're not talking super healthy here) is the chocolate banana malted milkshake that is in one of the cookbooks that came with the machine. It's reminiscent of a choc/banana w/alcohol drink I used to get in the Caribbean on cruise ships. But most of all it's very tasty.

Now I can't even remember what else I've made in it. Also, there was (maybe still) a very nice lady who sold on ebay and made appliance covers. I purchased one of her Vitamix covers and it's perfect. It's a quilted fabric and has a large pocket on two of the sides. She also did some custom covers for me. (I like covering stuff that sits out)

I sold one with the metal canister (?) on eBay several years ago. I never used it because I couldn’t see what was going on inside when it was running.

I bought a new new one a few years ago and used it 99% of the time for smoothies.

Niw I use/prefer a Ninja “blender” for smoothies because I can walk away and it turns itself off. So the Vitamix is off the counter.

I don't use my Vitamix nearly as much as I thought I would. It works wonderfully for making margaritas and smoothies but other than those drinks I really don't use it for much else.

I'm not ready to sell it but if I had to do it again I would have never purchased it. It was kind of an impulse buy and for my limited use a good blender would have served the same purpose.

I don't use mine nearly enough to have justified the price, but I will keep it for now. The last thing I used it for (and it worked wonderfully) was that I couldn't get the cream cheese lumps out of a cheesecake batter, so I poured it all in the VM and it was amazing - the smoothest cheesecake ever!

We are at the end of the asparagus crop in our yard. I can take those overgrown tough woody stems and cook them up with onions in chicken broth. Pieces are cut to about 2 inches. Then I run the mixture in the Vita Mix and have perfectly smooth asparagus soup. You can eat it like it is for low calorie version or add milk or half and half for creamed soup.

I now use a Ninja set and I love it blender / food processor / individual cup. I had a Vita Mix several years ago (it went well beyond the warranty period before wearing out ) . I give kudos to the product & company.

In answer to your question -- I believe I have seen both company's reps & commercials do this . Place a good cut of beef -raw-( you can know what it is better than already ground meat ) and grind it with what you like. I use carrots--usually put them in first onions /garlic / nuts /seeds? you get the idea . We find it tasty.

@depglass I love cream of aparagus soup ! sounds good .
