I was sitting here "chewing" on some celery and got to thinking about my Mother.

The two (2) things in life she enjoyed eating was York Peppermint Patties and celery. Yes, celery.

Anyway. she would put peanut butter on her celery. I eat celery not because I like it but once in a while I feel the need to snack on something that my mind thinks is healthy.

Never did understand her like of celery. To me it has no taste.

When you choose celery and carrots as a snack how do you usually eat them? Plain? Dip? Topping?

I think organic celery is far better than non-organic. At least the ones we get are sweeter and not as bitter. I think it is because of the pesticide residue.

I also think apples taste better because the skin tastes better. But on most things, I don't find a big taste difference.

I'm with your mother--love celery. I like the slightly bitter flavor and the crunchiness. I make tuna or egg salad that's half finely-chopped celery by volume. I drink celery juice. I love it in cooking any type of meat dish. I like celery soup, too. Oh, and salad made from apples, celery and walnuts.
