Ice Cream Floats, Yes or No?

I am not an ice cream lover. However, DD brought home a quart of soft serve vanilla over a week ago.

It sat in the freezer for 2 days untouched. Then it hit me there is a 16oz. Pepsi in the fridge, I can make a float. So it started. My nightly snack.

Now I do make it in a coffee cup as oppossed to a tall glass. 1 scoop and enough soda to cover, but still. Thankfully, the ice cream is nearly gone.

I know it is usually a Coke float, but growing up my Uncle worked for Pepsi and Coke was a 4 letter word.

Are you a fan of ice cream floats?

I'm a huge ice cream lover, so yes I like ice cream floats. I prefer root beer floats.

Wow, I haven't had a float since I was a kid, I used to like chocolate ice cream in coke. I wasn't a root beer fan so I never had that combination. I'm glad you found a treat you enjoy. By the way, I wish I wasn't an ice cream fan, it would make it easier to go by the freezer section without drooling. 🤣

I use Canada Dry Ginger Ale & Bryers Vanilla ice cream to make floats.

I used to love coke and vanilla ice cream!

Can't stand root beer or licorice or anything similar.

The very first soda type drink I tasted when I literally just ‘got off the boat’ arriving in America - Utah to be precise - was a root beer float - absolute heaven - had never had anything like this before. Love root beer floats.

I loved them when I was a kid. It's not a coke thing... we only had Pepsi. As an adult, I only use seltzer. Add chocolate syrup or vanilla, then the ice cream. YUM!

I no longer drink carbonated soft drinks and I am not a big fan of ice cream, never was.

When I was a kid I made floats with orange soda or root beer and vanilla ice cream. I can't remember the last times I had one.

As fast as I buy ice cream, my DH eats it. He has a bowl or two every night. If anyone wanted a float, they would have to act fast!

When my son was 13 he was diagnosed w/ type 1 diabetes. We made many changes in his diet. One was root beer floats made w/diet root beer. Delicious.

Haven't had one for eons, but I remember the A&W Root Beer Float being very tasty.

I think we still have an A&W, although I haven't been to that part of town for a while, but have kind of wondered if they are still as good as they used to be.
