I took the bait and ordered the bagels that were presented on ITKWD a few weeks ago. I thought it would be a good idea, since we've been observing the stay-at-home orders for several weeks. Wow. What a disappointment. Here's the review I just submitted. I rarely write negative reviews, so I'm not sure it they'll post it, but I thought I'd post it here. Have any of you purchased this product?

I'm a native NYer, and I was weaned on NY style bagels. This is my first QVC food purchase, because I now live on the west coast and thought they would be nostalgic. While there's nothing inherently wrong with this product, they bear no resemblance to what I remember as NY bagels. They are soft and rubbery. It was hard for me to distinguish between the plain and the asiago variety, since there is so little cheese on them. We'll eat them, they're okay, but I won't be repurchasing. In my opinion they are just a step up from pre-packaged grocery store bagels.

ETA: I just read the reviews. It's my fault for not reading them before purchasing.

Thank you for posting your review here dear house_cat. The only time that I ordered food from QVC was some steaks and that years ago. I too shall not order food from the Q as a), they are expensive and b), you never know how the food will tase once arrived home.

That’s a bummer on your first food order. I did my first food order a couple weeks ago when the TSV was the Heartland chicken fried chicken. I’m really happy with them. I baked a couple last night and put them in buns with lettuce, tomato, mayo and a couple pieces of bacon. Really good!

I've ordered many Q food items over the years and nothing has really wowed me. I think the best-tasting thing I've purchased is Mamie's Pies--very good but pricy for what you get. Several years ago I ordered the St. Clairs side dishes and while they tasted ok, was taken aback by how small the containers are for the huge price. Definitely no reorder on that.

Bagels have to be oven fresh. They start to decay almost immediately. So you should never order bagels to be delivered. They will be at least one day old at the fastest. One reason they don't have any shelf life is that they are kettle boiled. Some bagels companies skip the kettle boiling. They are steamed. Those bagels are fresher longer, but not quite as good in taste. Einstein bagels (the chain) is like this. So they sacrifice taste for shelf life. That's one reason so many Americans toast bagels. The taste has already gone by the time they get those via mail. Fresh bagels don't have to be toasted.

Been buying them for years, they and Rastelli's have good meat.

There's a place called Bagelicious about 5 min from me. Made fresh every day, big & absolutely scrumptious in a multitude of flavors. You can have lunch there too, all sorts of stuff on the bagel of your choice. You can take them home still warm and by the next day, regardless of how you store them the staleness is already setting in. You can stretch them to 2 days if you must, toasted of course but after that.......out they have to go.

I have ordered very little of the food offered but I can see how people would order it for a treat if they lived in a rural area where they did not have that many choices. I used to order the original crab cakes they sold until something awful happened to them. I also ordered Maine lobster from Lobstergram - I still order that but directly from Lobstergram.

re: M63330 And I absolutely love these bagels! In fact, I've ordered them twice in the Combo. The Everything is my favorite. I notice now they're all on Wait List.

My freezer is filled with QVC food, mostly the Kansas City and Sweet Sam's items. Everything is delicious, and I'm thinking about putting the Kansas City ham on auto-delivery.
