How do you use K48751 plancha?

I usually check out primetime specials just before I go to bed at night. They showed this cast iron plancha. I never heard of it and can't figure out how to use it. One open edge and some extra piece with holes in it? I am stymied.

I was too so I went and watched the presention video. It's like a cast iron skillet in a different shape. Take a look at the video.

Where's the emoji of someone smacking their head? I never watch videos because I got out of the habit with 10 years of lousy internet service. Now that it is improved with a new provider I'll get into the habit again and quit asking stupid questions.

I had to laugh a little when in the video two were used together to ensure that no food would fall off of the open edge. Not a fair example but I can see it could be useful for certain foods. Good price now.
