Trying New Local Eateries.

A co-worker of DD's said a new pasta place opened a few towns over. We may try it this weekend.

I can't pronounce the name, but it's all fresh pastas and sauces. You pick which pasta and sauce you want. I checked their website and it looks interesting. Prices are good too. 11 different pastas and several sauces to chose from.

The co-worker got rigatoni and the spicy sauce (can't think of the name), said it was wonderful. She's been there 3x since it opened at the beginning of February.

Are you anxious to try new places near you?

Are you anxious to try new places near you?

My husband and I enjoy finding new places to eat. Especially my husband. He will drive even an hour or two if he thinks it may be worth it. We don't patricullary care for chain restaurants. When we travel up and down the East coast to visit family (17 plus hours in a car), we're always on the look out for that special place and have found some. In North Carolina there is an excellent Mexican restaurant, some of the best Mexican food I ever had (and I used to live in California). In Virginia we found a burger place that also had homemade ice cream with the line out the door. Where I used to live in California there was a pasta place, not a restaurant thought. They made their own pasta and sauces and serviced many of the Italian restaurants in town (the expensive ones). It was delicious. I'd pick up my pasta then drive to a french bakery for bread. Yummy!

We do a lot of that in the spring and summer, we explore new restaurants with a group of friends. Two rules. It cannot be a chain or fast food type restaurant and it cannot be a restaurant that is just vegetarian or vegan.

We don't go out to eat often and when we do, it is usually a seafood restaurant.

We eat a lot of fish and seafood at home too. My husband does not like to eat restaurant food. He always complains that it is better made at home.

I have to remind him not to order crab cakes in restaurants, because he is never happy with them. He never complains about crab and lobster.

I make homemade pasta and sauce and most of my family does too. Restaurant sauce is never good enough.

We are going out to eat on Saturday night...for seafood with friends. I am happy. I'll get a night off from cooking. Yeah!!

I am okay with restaurant food, but since I am gluten free, my choices are limited and I have to be careful with cross contamination. I eat a lot of salads.

dh and i love eating out. we moved to our current town, a little over 2 years ago. we have been trying ALL the resturants. preference being small "hidden gems" Our town is a hub of sorts for breweries. pub grub is popular.

one of our current favorites, is actually a dive bar. best prime rib, and burgers around.

we try not to judge a book by it's cover. we tried a new place today. dh got a bacon blue burger.

i didn't see a side salad on the menu, but the nice waitress said i could get a small one for $3. i said how about a $5 one with some extra stuff on it. she was more than happy to accomodate me. never know if you don't ask.

Yes, we live in a place that has been called the best foodie town. We can walk to many wonderful eating establishments and love to try anyplace new.

It sounds like an interesting new place. I like the idea of different pastas & sauces to try!

Yes there have been a LOT of new restuarants that have been opening in my my town this past year and many more new to come...right now I'm addicted to Playa Bowls. It's a smoothie based bowl with fresh fruit on top with other toppings added...soo good!...but more of a summer thing.

There is a new Mod pizza that just opened last week. They are supposed to have "endless toppings". Another restaruant called "Solstice" will be opening in another month and their menu sounds interesting plus they will have outdoor seating (love that in nice weather!).

Iron Hill Brewery will be opening this spring too. I think they specialize in craft beer which I enjoy on occasion.

Our local shopping center has been in the process of being renovated for the last two years and I can't wait for all of the constuction to be over with!

Outside of town new to me the last few months (but it's been around for several years) is a teahouse in Flemington called Teaberry's. If you love things Victorian, (lots of old fashioned China) with over 100 teas to select from and great food it's a wonderful place to get together with girl friends!

ETA: I try to go into Philly to visit my DD nce a month or so. She works from home so I'll go visit in the afternoon and we'll try one of the many amazing small restaurants that the city has to offer today.

We have a new restaurant opening up next week. It's called Cheddars Scratch Kitchen. Apparently they are a chain restaurant. Friends and I figure we'll wait 2 or 3 weeks for the crowds to thin. Anyone ever been to one?

No, my husband and I do not have an interest in eating at any new local places, and many open and close here before we ever know about them.

I prefer to cook my food at home, and would choose a peanut butter and jelly sandwich from my kitchen over a meal from any local restaurant, any day.

Yes, I love trying new places! Something tells me that eating out is about to become a lot more difficult for a while, so get out there while we can.

There's a homemade Italian resturant on the other side of town I've been wanting to try every time I pass it. It's been there for several years, and too far for dinner once we get home. (DH will go out for an "event", that's it, since he's in his car so much).

I'm meeting a dear friend which I worked with 5 years, She lives a good 40 minutes past this resturant, as do I in the OTHER direction, so it happens to be the half way for both of us!

I looked it up on Trip Advisor and it has FIVE stars!!!! I can't wait!

We only eat at locally owned restaurants. I can't tell you the last time I ate at a franchise. We have so many terrific places to eat! Love supporting my own businesses.

Sorry you've never been to a good restaurant enough to branch out a bit. No way could I ever eat my food forever. My dh and I have always had Friday Night date night, for the past 46 years. We try new wonderful places and love to get out and experience new things. Remember, life is short...
