Le Creuset 3.5-qt Buffet Casserole with Glass Lid and Tool

I love LC, and hoped it was a piece I'd want, but this is not. I like the size of the brasier, but not the glass lid. I'd rather the cast iron lid come with the item because buying the iron lid later they're harder to come by and match the color of the pan....then later buy a glass lid if I wanted one.

Not what I was expecting but the price is good. Won't be buying...better deals at the outlets right now.

That sounds like stoneware, not cast iron. It's probably a lovely piece, but I have no need for another baker.

It is cast iron.

I don't like the glass lid either and it's not a size I need. Too bad.

Ruh roh.... this is a problem. I just noticed you'd posted the item number and when I took a peek at it I realized it is not at all what I was picturing. In fact, I like it a lot. The glass lid is a good idea, because I need to see what's going on it the pot and lifting the lid changes the cooking process for some foods. I had no intention of buying another piece, but this one is calling my name.

I like the size, and I'd buy it right away if it came with a cast iron lid. I can buy a glass lid for not much $, and probably already have one that fits. To buy a cast iron lid that fits, and matched the color, is harder and a lot more $$$$.

I have a 5qt brasier w/cast lid, love it. If this was the 3.5qt brasier w/CI lid, I'd go for it.

Last year or, the year before, they offered a 2.75 round dutch w/cast lid for $129 I think, maybe less. I bought 4 for my kids. I wish I would have bought 2 more for myself, and was hoping they'd bring it back. It is wonderful, holds a ton, and never leaves their stove.

They have this at various sites, WS, etc. I'll go there to get the 2.75.

TSV is a nice item, especially if you have any body issues that make it difficult to lift the pan, plus the lid- they are very heavy. I can't lift my 5qt brasier with lid, and when it has food inside.....NOOOO! So I have to do the pan, then the lid, but, thank goodness, I can slide my LC from the stovetop to my counter to the sink.

And no matter what, I'm not lifting a hot pot with hot food from the oven, no way. Someone else has to do that.

All LC is great IMO

I bought one in oyster. I already have one I got on deep discount long ago,but I like the bigger handles and am excited about the glass lid.

Those cast iron ones weigh a ton!

I can pass on the TSV, I'd never use that brazier, but I hope they offer free shipping on all Le Creuset items that day, as the Q often does on a brand on it's TSV day. THAT would tempt me to order a few things!

I ordered it in the yellow. My other three pieces are palm green, and it bothered me a bit that palm wasn't offered, but yellow is my favorite color, so I'm taking a walk on the wild side and ordering it. I know I'll use it a lot, but I have to admit I feel kind of guilty about spending the money right now.

I know the 2.75 size you mentioned, they were offering it last year for $99. I didnt get wind of it until most of the colors were soldout, but was able to snatch 3 of them. Some nights I'll have all three cooking on my stovetop. Love 💗 this size. It's my (Jasmine) rice cooker, sauces, pasta boiler, vegetable steamer, etc. One is always at the ready on the stove.

I don't have need for the TSV but would be all over that if I did. Functional size. Love all the colors.

@house_cat Don't feel guilty! I'm sure they are featuring this as the Sunday Today's Special Value to entice people to purchase during the slower 1st quarter of the cycle when I think most people have a tendency to spend less after all the holiday purchases in the 4th quarter of the previous fiscal/calendar year.

My daughter (who is an excellent cook and worked in a top year restaurant in high school and college breaks, rising to assistant manager, and worked all aspects of the restaurant for 5 years) has two LC items in her kitchen, one purchased at least 14 years ago as a big ticket item shortly after college and it is still going.

The second was about 12 years ago as a gift card purchase she made at Williams Sonoma on after Christmas clearance and it, too, is often used and in excellent shape. (Her now mother-in-law put it on a too high heat to warm something up for her for dinner and scorched the bottom but daughter was able to restore the interior enamel to almost new.

I bought the 10.5 inch handle LC skillet in emerald from Q back in July as a birthday gift for my Significant Other's birthday which is today, by coincidence. He "found" it-- in what I thought was my clever hiding place--about a month ago and loves it. It has been used daily with excellent results. He remarked that you can tell it has real value compared to some of the other cast iron enamel, like a 4 qt. brasier I have that he also uses.

So, my opinion, long story short, is consider it an investment and don't feel guilty. Cut back for a month on something else and enjoy something like this that will outlast us!

There are more kitchen websites where you an get LC for the same price as Q and free shipping. Just google .

I ordered in the provence color. I have 2 other lc, one in hibiscus and 1 in oyster. They are excellent pans and I really like the glass lid so I can see what's going on.

I bought my first one about 4 years ago. It's a huge round Dutch oven and I use it several times a week. I then added a large oval skillet and a 2 quart Dutch oven. These are the workhorses of my kitchen, and I cook every night. I can honestly say that my cooking has improved since owning this brand.

I have no reservations regarding the price, considering the superior quality. It is unfortunate though, that it comes before I've finished paying my December credit card bill. I don't like to leave a balance on the card, but I did so much entertaining this Christmas and as it turns out, entertaining can be very expensive! I have a birthday this month, so I'll just have to consider it a birthday gift to myself 💝

If I come across a good price on a medium sized Dutch oven, 3.5 quarts would be ideal, I will add that as my last piece and donate everything else that I own. Most everything else sits in the garage, unused. I love my LeCreuset.
