My plan for gifting the TT mini-loaf pans.

I bought two sets of Temptations mini-loaf pans. I'm making carrot cake for my coworkers and the pans are part of each gift.

My plan is to bake the cakes in the bakers, then take them out to cool on a rack.

While they are cooling completely, I'm going to wash and dry the pans thoroughly.

I'll be frosting the tops of the cooled cakes with cream cheese frosting.

When I put them back into the pans I am planning to make a "sling" from parchment paper, so the frosted cakes slip back into the pans easily and will lift out for serving.

Does this sound like a good plan?

Does anyone have a better one?

That's a great idea. I bought the loaf pans also and bought 2 sets. I am making beer bread in them and giving as gifts. I don't have to frost them so I will put the plastic lids underneath and wrap them with plastic wrap. Your idea is outstanding.

@house_cat Yes! That's exactly like what I do. So I just ordered from Amazon (and received them yesterday) the non-stick mini-loaf (they are smaller) loaf things.

I like to make banana nut bread to put in little baskets I make for friends at Christmas.

I put in real bananas into the mix and sprinkle the tops with a cinnamon/little sugar mixture.

I got the mini-mini loaf pans for a very good price at Amazon.

A good thing to do to make little cloth covers is to buy the squares you get at stores like "JoAnn or Michaels" and sew or hot glue them together. Then turn them right side up (glue them wrong side together).

Poof! You have a cute (and cheap) bread cloth. The colors and designs are endless.

If you don't want to have it on both sides just use one cloth and use that for a liner.

They are made for people who make quilts. If the basket is small enough you might even be able to make two with one square. I don't do that.

Then the people get to have a cloth to put over THEIR bread when they want to.

i've heard so many stories about temptations cracking in the oven....i wouldn't take a chance using them.....especially for gift giving....

@house_cat, what a nice idea and thoughtful gift! I think it would work to make a parchment paper sling if you only cover the long sides of the pan and cut it to fit if needed. My thought is that if you covered all four sides, the cake won't fit back in the pans since parchment isn't very pliable in corners. Hope that makes sense (although maybe that's exactly what you were thinking too)!

@house_cat - I did almost exactly what you're describing for regular-size loaves of cranberry orange bread a few years ago; I had a loaf pan identical to the ones I was gifting, so I just baked all the loaves in that one and then partially wrapped them and slipped them into the unused loaf pans. I used this site as a guide for the wrapping, using a festive ribbon instead of twine:

That's a very sweet idea and since I gift baked goods often, I'm looking forward to trying it. Thank you.

This time, I bought plastic bags that are supposed to shrink wrap with heat. I'm planning to put the plastic lid underneath the pan, then crimp the tops of the bags using a heat tool - maybe my curling iron wrapped in parchment or cloth so it doesn't stick.

I think it was @jannabelle1 who said to cut the sling to fit the longer side of the pan only. Yes, that was the plan.

I have to say that I totally underestimated how cute these little bakers are. I bought two sets and there won't be any left for me. I think I'll check if there are any left in stock so I can keep a set.

Thank you. That's a really lovely idea for the future. In this case, they'll have frosting on them, but I often gift banana bread and that will present really nicely.

@house_cat - The nice thing about the fold-top parchment approach is that you can make the wrapping as loose or tight as you like; if you wanted to carefully wrap your frosted mini loaves, I'll bet you could (if you choose not to use your other strategy).

I used to wrap DH's lunch sandwiches like that - his friends used to tease him about it, lol.
I'm gonna see if those bakers are still available. The ones I liked best were the holiday ones with the Gingerbread Man and Santa. I'm thinking they'd be first to sell out, but you never know - heading there RIGHT now!

I also bought two sets of those. I bought the plaid ones. I figure I can give them (with banana bread) at various times of the year.

I'm having one heck of a time finding my banana bread mix. I'd rather pick it up from the local store, but if I don't find it tomorrow, I'll order it from Amazon!

Well, they're done! The bags I'd purchased were ridiculously large, so I had to move to Plan B.

Now, the hardest part comes tomorrow when I have to transport eight of them to school, including another eight large muffins sized ones. That should be interesting.
