yeah, I've got one that makes 4 at a time and I always spray it.

light comes on and beeps when it's ready for the batter then squeaks again when they're done.

Husband hollers "birds chirping". It's old , but, it's been a good one.

those that only make one at a time wouldn't work for me. He wants his food NOW and isn't waiting to eat 2-3 waffles I'd be getting up and down from the table 10 times to keep 'em coming.

Think mine is a Cuisinart, too. I'd check out Bed and Bath and take coupon with you. If don't have what you want have them to order for you and sent to your house.

I'm in the market for a waffle maker, I never owned one, my mother back in the day had a stainless steel one with no teflon coating, the waffles never came out good! I was looking at a Cusinart one that rotates, do I really need it to rotate? It seems most of the irons don't have removable plates you can wash, does it really matter? I saw a couple of waffle makers that you fill vertically and can store that way, that way of cooking seems awkward to me. Does anyone have a waffle iron they like?

I have a Krups and I like it a lot. It's one of those, also, that you put the batter in and then close it and turn it around. I suppose you do need to do that, but I don't know the scientifics of it

Another thing I like about it is that it's rectangular, not round. I don't quite know why, but I don't want round.

I've probably had it for at least 15 years and it's still great. Nonstick, too, of course.

My parents, the waffle king and queen, for years had Sunbeam waffle makers. They were Teflon that were coated and they did stick, however, they always sprayed them with Pam which alleviated that problem. Made 4 big, square waffles. I think they all stick unless sprayed.

It was under $20., had removeable plates , sandwich grill plates, and made a crunchy waffle . (which I like).

ITA with with the @loriqvc that suggested using a mister. I use a silicone brush to apply butter or oil to the plates.

I enjoy using a waffle iron for other items some time. The other day I wanted a piece of shortcake to put strawberries and whipped cream on , but did not want to use even the toaster oven. I made just one waffle with the recipe and we enjoyed it without heating up the kitchen.
