I ran out and bought the Sept issue of C Reports to see how they rated all the kitchen gadgets and was mainly interested in how they scored the Ninja Foodi.

_____________________________________________________________

Ninja revolutionized the multicooker by adding a crisping lid that can broil food after pressure-cooking for a crackling finish. Our testers tried it with a whole chicken and the skin crisped up nicely. You can also use the lid to bake cookies and air-fry food. It earns an Excellent rating for pressure-cooking, making rice, and sauteing, and scores a Very Good rating for slow-cooking and steaming. It's bigger then most models, and the crisping lid cannot be removed.

Over all rating was 79

Breville Fast Slow Pro got 81

(it's a slow cooker that can take 5 hrs. to do meat)

I got to have Fast not waiting half a day to have tender meat.

Sticking with the Foodi

If so, I have one in the lime green, and I just love it for summer salads. It's kind of a big set to store, so I also have one of the smaller rectangular models, but they all work great!

I can't find nothing that will cut red peppers, and Chef Tony makes it looks easy, but, I'm getting discouraged with mine. I don't want to slam it so hard down that it shakes the roof. LOL I end up having to dig out pickles and onions and doing them over.

I'm thinking about getting the HSN electronic one that the blade slides back and forth think it's by Dash. Or just go back to doing stuff by hand.

I'm not weak and frail at all, but, that hurts your hand to slam that lid down as hard as it must take to chop anything.

If I showed the whole pic of my kitchen that gal would scream to high heaven. Yep, have 12 ft counter L shaped and the ledge above it and it's

all being used. LOL

I typically use the big Nicer Dicer for making large salads or fruit salads that we eat all week, or when I'm asked to bring salads for a gathering. It also comes in handy when I want to cut up a whole bunch of veggies for soups/stews or potatoes for various recipes (particularly if I'm making enough to freeze for the future). My sister has a larger family and she has actually borrowed the big Nicer Dicer many times for doing monthly meal prep.

I ended up purchasing the smaller rectangular Nicer Dicer a couple years ago as well, and that's what I reach for on a near-daily basis because it's better suited for smaller amounts.

"Ninja revolutionized the multicooker by adding a crisping lid that can broil food after pressure-cooking for a crackling finish."

Ninja may have revolutionized the multicooker by adding a crisping lid, but it's still a big honking device for those of us without huge kitchens. Mealthy has recently begun marketing its CrispLid for air frying. The CrispLid - a reasonably-sized device fits on top of the Instant Pot, Mealthy Multipot or any 6 or 8-quart electric pressure cooker with a stainless steel pot. If your pressure cooker has a non-stick pot, the CrispLid will not work with it.

I have a CrispLid and it works beautifully.
