Curtis Stone Crossover???

I'm hoping with all the QVC & HSN product and guest vendor crossovers, Curtis Stone and his sous chef Rochelle (sp?) Will be 2 of them. That would be a change I would welcome and watch. How about you?

ETA correct Curtis' sous chef's name.

I can't recall QVC ever having professional chefs. HSN has always had a few....Curtis Stone, Wolfgang, Ming Tsai, to name a few. I prefer they stay on HSN because they often have free shipping deals on their shows. Not sure QVC would buy into that.

It would be interesting to see him bring out a premium line just for QVC, like large sets of the cookware with stainless steel exteriors (unpainted). He did that with knives; he had a line made in Japan by Yaxell that was very pricey, and then he had the "Samurai" line, which is still offered on HSN (the Santoku). The Yaxell knives blew the Samurais out of the water. I returned the 2 Samurais I'd bought from HSN and have several of the Yaxell knives. They're beautiful and incredibly sharp.

Back to cookware, I'd like more stainless steel because the painted exteriors of the standard pots and pans can be tough to clean, especially cooked-on fats and sauces. It's easy to take the paint off if you scrub too hard (all hand washing).

Another thing he could bring here are other tableware designs. He's got a very basic place setting on HSN, but something with more verve, as well as flatware and serving pieces, would be interesting.

He can only go so far with the cookware before the market is saturated, b/c you don't really use up cookware. His is so durable, I don't think I'll ever replace it. So he's going to have to diversify to expand, IMO. I'd love to see Curtis textiles (potholders, towels, aprons, etc.) and kitchen clogs, for example.

@chrystaltree I'm pretty sure Too Faced cosmetics went from HSN to QVC.

nope, i like him right where he is. if he needs to go over the allocated time for a product by a minute or two, it's ok there. not here.

the hosts there let vendors explain things without butting in on the regular, for lack of a better word. david, leah and mary would let curtis speak, after that . . hmmm...

he also has a cooking entourage. i don't recall ever seeing vendor here come with an entourage. have you?

plus, the prices would be higher here, based on the few other brands that have come here from hsn, that i've looked at. fortunately, most of the movement has been from qvc to hsn

Interesting that years ago on QVC we saw more cooking demos with Bob B. and Bob Warden. I remember when HSN sold gazillions of a cookware they had (which I think later had some lawsuits) and they never showed anyone actually cooking with it. I like watching Wolfgang and Curtis Stone. Prefer them on HSN so we can actually see the items being used.

I can remember when Tfal was the go to cookware on the Q...That was some, and still is some, quality cookware....Then Emeril had his cookware made by Tfal, and that was good, although, more expensive with his name on it...That was back in the days when chef's were on and allowed to demonstrate "COOKING", and not just mention a dish, and saying you could could cook it in their pans....Bring back the old days!!!! Bring back cooking, and showing the true ways a product can be used, and not just a minute or 2 of sauteeing and put in the oven...or show a finished food and how you get to the finished food. Don't make us "beg" for every recipe, and tell us to go to Facebook, Instagram, or such....I do not do those things.....I COOK.....Show me how you cook!!!

@forrestwolf A set of T-fal sold by Bob Bowersox was my very first QVC purchase. I was so happy with it as my set from wedding registry was so much harder to clean. I have bought Cooks Essentials and also another T-fal set later on. A few years ago I bought a set of Lorena Garcia's from HSN because I liked the color. I think it has been good, but once I got a couple of pieces from Curtis Stone--his is the best. I pre-ordered the TS on the 27th and it showed it was to delivered today--29th. I don't think it will be, but it is in my State so if I don't get it tomorrow, perhaps on Monday. Will clean out my extra older pieces from other brands and donate the good ones.

@Daysdee My first Tfal I bought from Spiegel...Loved that set...Then, years later, gave that away, and bought Cooks Essential, when they were really getting going, and it was great...then the quality went down, and then I switched to Techniques, and it was the greatest....then down the tubes it went....Now, I have gone to the cast iron, but have not been able to cook with it since I have had it due to extreme nausea, and inability to cook, so I am waiting to see how I like it....Still have Calphalon and Ming cookware, that I do love, sill have some Techniques that I still swear by...Wish they would stop imporving, as they destroy what they already have in place.....

I don't want a "crossover"---I like Curtis on HSN and love all the demos he does and like to watch all the dishes he makes in the hour he is on. That would not happen on QVC as no one cooks now. Don't ruin his shows and his great cookware line.

And hope they don't bring Shannon to Q. My my she is ridiculous with CS tonight, does she have any idea she doesn't need to be crazy with over the top sales pitches ...his cookware, etc. sells itself!

After my first set of 3 frypans from HSN I was sold on his cookware. Those pans are still as nice as the day I bought them & I use them everyday!

I was tempted to order the TS but can't justify it when my set (3 years old) is still perfect!😊

I'd prefer he stay on HSN too. There's always a chance over there of being able to use a coupon whereas QVC never does coupons. Although, I haven't gotten any coupon codes from HSN in awhile, but I'll probably get one tomorrow since I did buy one of his pans yesterday.

And @homedecor1, I agree about Shannon. She drives me crazy. Everything is going to sell out ANY Minute now. Although, with Curtis that might actually be true. I did miss out on the pizza slicer.

you won't be disappointed imo! I have turquoise and love it not just the color but how nice his pans are😊

I ordered the square grill pan today. I have his TS from last year with the multi-pan w/grill top but the handles get super hot eventhough I have the silicone handle covers. This pan should be easier to handle. (i ordered black by accident but that's ok I wanted it before it was sold out).

I'm always destroying cookware, mainly the nonstick coated skillets and saute pans. So I watched an hour of Curtis Stone yesterday, sadly he doesn't have any "just skillet" deals except the 8 inch one. I'd welcome a re-introduction of basic items on QVC.
