I know they go in the dishwasher but is it only on the top rack. I have some of the big pieces and was afraid to put in lower part of dishwasher. It’s a pain to hand wash. Tia

I've had them for years and put them on top and bottom without a problem- I try to put the lids on top but sometimes the really large ones I've put on bottom- Only real problem I've had with Lock n Locks- is I don't put them in the microwave anymore- they say you can but some substances react with them (like spaghetti sauce or butter)

DH is the “Dish Master” in our home and he puts our Lock and Lock on both racks of the dishwasher. I have to admit that I haven’t seen any adverse impact on pieces that were on the bottom rack.

I have many pieces of Lock and Lock purchased through the years and have never put any of the pieces on the bottom shelf.

I thought they’d melt or warp. Maybe I’ll try a piece and see what happens.

I love Lock and Lock and one can never own too many pieces.

I only put mine on the top rack.

The ones that are too large I just wash by hand. Takes no major time or effort, but I do keep a small dish rack on one side of my sink because there are are lot of things, many of them L&L, that are in use nearly constantly, so I cannot put them in the dw or they'd sit there for a while before I can fill it up.

Plus I wouldn't put pots, pans, knives, or anything nonstick in the dishwasher anyway so the small draining rack nearly always has something in it.

It depends on how new your dishwasher is. The older models will melt things on the bottom because the heating element is there.

In the newer models, the top and bottom racks are both safe to place delicate things. The heating elements are different in new models.

You should be able to check the instructions for your dishwasher on line if you've lost your book that explains how to use the unit.
