Tara's "Tara At Home" business has been separate from her QVC collection for several years. The At Home collection is sort like Tupperware and Avon -- they are direct sales by people who own the individual, selling Tara's products. They are Tara At Home Consultants.

So it just looks like now, bit by bit, these At Home products will be creeping into the QVC inventory for a more widespread sales channel. You can check out more at her Tara at Home website.

I wonder how those individual Consultants feel about this.

Yes, Tara was going to various cities across the country to do meet and greets to recruit consultants to do home parties to sell this merchandise. Could be that this type of selling is not going well.

I can't imagine people lugging this kind of heavyweight stuff around like they would tupperware for a tupperware party. It strikes me as somewhat desperate on Tara's part to resort to this. Doesn't she do well enough on QVC?

I believe Tara launched this line so she could try something different from the multicolored Temp-tations products and attempt to reach a new audience. I like the Tara at Home items much more than all the floral TT options, but the pricing seems a bit extreme. I'm very happy with the classic whiteware I purchased last year at Target—it's some of the most well made and lovely stoneware I've seen, and it was about a third of the price of these new pieces from Tara. I am honestly interested to see how this new stuff sells...

I was surprised to read here that Tara's items were sold at home parties, etc. I thought the only place to purchase was QVC or her website. They must be cranking out thousands of pieces of TT every day.

@Daysdee - The parties and specialty sales are only for the Tara at Home line, which has just a few options available at any given time (a sharp contrast to the glut of Temp-tations items around here and on the TT site). As I recall...but could be wrong...Temptations sold all white pieces at one time. I had some pieces, but they were bigger than what I needed so I got rid of them.

Since her line is made in China, I would bet that they would. This new line is NOTHING special. I've bought similar-looking pieces in Marshall's and TJ Maxx that are made in Italy or Portugal for a LOT less than she sells hers for.
