I just received my shipment of honeybell's. I was so excited until I bit into one. If someone handed this to me without knowing what it was I would say a grapefruit. Almost Exact flavor of a grapefruit. I am wondering if anyone has experienced this with there recent orders? I do not dislike the flavor, I just would never have ordered these if it was explained that it tasted like this. Please let me know what yours are like this year. And should I just keep trying the others?

I just ate one about an hour ago. Mine was very, very sweet and incredibly juicy!!!! YUM!!!! Only complaint: In one section, there were four seeds. But a small price to pay for such "delicious-ness"!

Ok, #2 was much better. The only question that remains is about the coloring. I noticed that the pamphlet said they are many different shades from yellow to bright orange. Does anyone know if this plays any part in the ripening? Or is it simply the color?

Received our order. Very disappointed. Bait and switch. These were definitely not the ones displayed on QVC. They were extremely discolored, marred and had the appearance of being down right ugly. If I saw these in the grocery store I certainly would not purchase them. Did a taste test with two from my local store. Yes the Honey Bells were sweet and juicy but comparing the price of $2.42 each to .59 at the store, I would never buy the Honey Bells again. Just not worth the extreme price difference.

When they sell Honeybells on HSN, they explain that they may have marks on the skin. These are caused by the fruit being blown against the branches of the trees and have nothing to do with the quality of the fruit. My Hale Honeybells are absolutely delicious. They do have 3 or 4 seeds in them but who cares?

We lived next to an orange grove in Florida and our neighborhood was covered in orange trees. I would walk right outside my door most of the year and take an orange off the trees to eat. The oranges were so sweet but the skin on a real "off the tree" orange are not like in the stores. The natural color is yellow and brown. The bright color in the stores is fake, I would rather have the natural. It was many years after leaving Florida before I could eat a store orange after having our own orange trees in our yard.

I think the Q must be getting a lot of complaints about the look of Honeybells. The last time this product was being presented, they made it a point to show three different fruits and say that no matter what they look like at the outside, that they are all orange and juicy on the inside.

I ordered them for my parents years ago. My mom said they were sour. I called and complained and my money was refunded.

Just received my AD. They've been in process since 01/02/14 and arrived today. I tried to cancel them since 01/02/14 and kept being told they couldn't be cancelled because they were in the process of shipping (for 2 weeks). Wish they could have cancelled them. They're nothing like last years. All of them are very small...more like the "snackers" size and the whole box of them came frozen solid, so I don't know how they will turn out. Will never order them again.

Honeybells are a product of nature. Generally they are sweet, but they can differ depending on weather conditions during the growing season. I have gotten some shipments over the years where the fruit was more tart than at other times, but I would never complain. That's just the way nature works. This year's shipment has been very mild and sweet. Next year's could be just the opposite.

The skin coloring is from a difference in breed. When in Jamaica I had Ugli fruits, which are their version of a tangelo (Honeybell). It is indeed ugly, all greenish brown, speckled and oddly shaped. However, they are delicious. Same for the Honeybells.

I received mine yesterday. I immediately opened them up, inspected them and then tried one out. The honeybells were nice and cold from being in the truck but fortunately they were not frozen. They were of various color but they were sweet and extremely juicy as can be. My wife liked them too. I've already had 3 and really wished they grew year round as they really satisfied my sweet tooth without needing some junk food. Out of the 3 honeybells I've had so far, I've only had 2 seeds total.
