Anyone experience a Velveeta shortage?

Heard the shelves might empty out of Velveeta. There is a Chicken Chowder I plan to make which has some Velveeta stirred in but I'll wait a month or two before I make it.

Walmart seemed to be well stocked yesterday when I was there. I was laughing to myself that this might be a PR thing to boost sales.

If there is a shortage, this will impact Rotel and Tortilla Chips, too. The domino effect ;o(

Makes good grilled cheese sandwiches, too. Gooey! You can just tell by looking at it, it will stick to something (arteries, liver, my hips, etc.)

I don't buy Velveeta so I haven't noticed if it's available or not, but if you want to make your recipe, I would think that yellow American cheese would work as a good substitute as it melts well and doesn't separate. It even tastes similar. You could use the packaged slices (each slice wrapped in plastic) or buy it at the deli counter which is what I prefer. I think it tastes better.

No shortages at the local groceries here or Walmart. All the stores seem to be well stocked with it.

Within the last week, I have been in three grocery stores and all three had Super Bowl displays set up, complete with numerous boxes of Velveeta cheese. I think it's created hype to sell the product.
