ELITE AIR FRYER TSV

Noticed today QVC has an 5.5 Elite air fryer for only $79. And, if you order today, it's on six easy pay!

Sounds like a good deal to me. Any opinions on this brand? Your thoughts will be appreciated. Thanx!

LOL I have nothing in red ..............ROFL I got email while ago from UPS that says my new red Instant Pot arrives Mon late. I'm so glad it's coming before we leave for vacation. First time ups said it would arrive WED. I go oh no I"ll have to go to UPS and tell them to have it delivered there and I'll pick up when get back don't want nothing on front porch for a week. Safe place and everybody stays to themselves, but, still didn't want to worry about it while I was gone.

Then , I get an email from UPS saying its coming MOn. Yay ! saves me a trip and maybe money going to ups don't know if they would charge to have a delivery diverted or not. One less worry for me. It was just mailed Fri. goes to show you they can whip stuff to you when they want to.

Anyways, I got the email UPS rec'd my IP (red) yesterday afternoon. So, imagine I'll be getting mine on Monday, too! Can't wait - ordered the IP cookbook, but that hasn't come yet.

@eddyandme: I noticed the preorder mid week. I have a special friend that wanted a air fryer for her Christmas gift. The one she mentioned was a brand I had never heard of and the reviews were very mixed and indicated not big enough to feed two. I researched and read as much as possible. I ordered this one for my friend hoping she will be surprised and it will be a good one. I will see her Thanksgiving and have it wrapped for her to take home. The plus was have until the end of January if any problems. I really thought she would have preferred the Instant Pot. Southern Bee

This air fryer is made by the same company as thePower XL air fryers that have been out for a while. My sister has the original Power XL and has no problems with it.

I have two air fryers to buy for Christmas and may buy these for my two grandchildren. Now to pick thecolors they would like.

Thanks for responding. Guess, I'm gonna get it as it's also not that much larger than the 3.5 sizes.

I'm also debating on the color. It was a toss up for me between the slate and the teal. Think I'm gonna go for the slate: hope they show it again as I missed the demo on ITKWD and hoping the slate isn't too dark.

I was interested in the upcoming TSV air fryer too. I read the reviews on other air fryers here, both were Power XL brand and didnt care for what I read. Seems if the unit was nearing a year or a year old they had stopped working and put in the trash. The better reviews seemed to be only a few months of use so far so I wonder if this is a good brand to purchase. Altho it looks like a nice unit and perfect size, I think I am going to pass. You might want to check out the reviews on this brand first before you purchase.

Darn it, I want an air fryer so bad!

I checked the reviews on amazonsmile and the air fryer reviews seem to run mostly at four stars. Did check one that looked like this model, same 5.5, but measurements little larger but think that's packaging, and it was 122 with four and half stars. Assume relatively new model as it only had 17 reviews.

I understand how you feel. I always like to check with those on the forum for their opinions which I know can always trust.

I've made comments before in here about air fryers, but, bears repeating

I got mine at Kohl's with all their discounts the big fryer 6qt had the divider but I pitched it. Anyway, with all the paper discounts. Little over 100 but no shipping or waiting either.

I use mine daily love anything NuWave makes and came with the DVD

Already had the nuwave see thru one (in red) make sure you don't get the

tiny 3qt one it's drawer is hard to handle. I had read about that online. while

I was in Kohl's I fooled with the demo model and the 6 qt one basket is easy pull out and slide back in.

Tip: be careful when removing the basket that you don't press the button on the handle that releases the inner basker that is in the drawer ! I almost dropped the whole basket of food on the floor. just pull basket

out and dump food or when you have it safely on the counter then you push that button on the handle and release the food

4 1/2 stars is pretty dang good, I will go read up. I have a feeling the

TSV will end up in my cart, I want to play with one of these in the worst way!!

Has anyone made a blooming onion? That sounds so good!

I bought this air fryer on Black Friday last year from Best Choice Products. Never heard of this brand or site before, but got it for around $85 total so I decided to take a chance on it. It has performed well and has an excellent coating that is easy clean-up. It is only for DH and myself, but occasionally I make mozzarella sticks for the great-nieces when they visit. I haven't deep-fried anything in at least 30 years, so I wanted to try this so we could have some old favorites. We love onion rings and breaded mushrooms, so now I buy a bag of each and keep in the freezer for a treat once in a while. I bought a pack of round perforated parchment paper to help with clean-up, but really don't have to use them for the onion rings or mushrooms. I have also made chicken thighs soaked in buttermilk and hot sauce, then dredged in seasoned flour. This is when the parchment paper is handy. I spritzed the flour coated chicken with olive oil the first time that I made them, but then my sister said she doesn't use any oil, so I tried that the next time and they were better than with any oil. The grease that rendered from the chicken skin under the coating was enough to give some flavor and keep the chicken juicy. The flour coating even turned light brown and got really crispy. I was amazed. I have made air fried chicken 4 times in the past 10 months. I can fit 4 large chicken thighs in the basket and there is enough space so they're not jammed in like sardines. LOL Good Luck and enjoy if you decide to buy.

I have the Power XL 3.4 qt. from QVC and I love it. I use it several times a week. I cook for one (and for some leftovers) and it is so easy to use and easy to clean. I have had it since late March of 2017.

Im inching closer to putting the air fryer in my cart! I was thinking the same thing, I bet Meredith might even have the recipe in her air fryer cook book. I am going to pick her book up when I get one. Even if it doesnt have the blooming onion in it, I bet there is alot of nice recipes and (hopefully) some helpful hints in it. I bet it is sold on Amazon.

@Daysdee, thanks, good to know how well it works for you.

I technically cook for one, too, however, always must make enough for my boy, Eddy. He's my furbaby who is a real foodie, especially loving any and every veggie he's ever met! So, the larger one will let me cook extra all at once! I even recently ordered the Instant pot so I can make yogurt for us!

Perhaps should change my Goldenlocks to DogChef, ya think?
