I've finally got around to tossing out my not-happy-with Temp-tations and finally getting 2 long-wanted Fiestaware casseroles. Love them except that they don't come clean in dishwasher. Anyone else have that problem? Not sure what I'm going to do about it.

Mine are very old. I am sure they show some wear. I simply attempt to soak them first in hot water, then use a slightly abrasive pad of sorts AND THEN I POP THEM IN MY DISHWASHER. Not perfect but I am happy.

Whenever I have a baking dish or metal stove top, oven pan or broiler pan with something stubborn stuck on it (stubborn lasagna edges, brown bits stuck from potatoes & roasts, etc.) I soak it in hot water and a few shakes of baking soda. Just fill & leave for an hour, have even left overnight if I could not get to it, and like magic everything gets softened & slippery and comes right off with minimal scrubbing. Just make sure any food residue is soaking in it, and if residue is on the edges or handles then just take your hand & fingers and spread some of the water/baking soda mixture on it. Then wash in dishwasher or by hand with dish soap! Voila! Even works on the sides or bottoms if you spread some on those spots, softens and washes away! Just a little warning...because of the softening nature of baking soda, your baking dish/pan will be slightly slippery until you rinse & wash it so just use caution.

I have an issue with Fiestaware in the dishwasher - when I use the dishwasher pods the plates come out with an odd smell. I had to go back to liquid Cascade. Also over time the plates need extra attention scrubbing with Barmaids cleanser and/or copper cleaner. This does not effect any other dishes including TempTations.
