As the previous poster indicated it's the aroma only. It doesn't affect the performance of the sealing ring. After cooking I run mine through the dishwasher and store in the lid upside down so that the ring is exposed to air. i don't have an issue with the smell and it doesn't affect the food that I'm cooking.

I got question for those who already own one

What's the deal on the sealing ring ? Dan mentioned something about changing it out depending on what food your making and something about it wearing out and needing to be replaced.

Can anybody enlighten me on that ?

Thanks !

@SharkE--thats because the rings can and do retain the aroma of what you cooked in it--I have a couple extra rings and I will use the clear one for my savory stuff and then one of the others for sweet stuff. I've never had cross over from using one ring for everything tho. I had a PC from the Q for over 20 now, and never worried about, just washed it in hot soapy water each time.

Ran to walmart and they didn't have the Pioneer Woman pressure cooker

might have it in the bigger stores or she said order online, but, want to see stuff in person first.

Those Instant Pots sure blew out the door on Q. Seems like David said last count was 70,000
