Tonight I am making hot dogs and beans, with sauerkraut. I’ll serve it on crusty Italian bread and German mustard. It is not the healthiest meal but there are times when the goodies of childhood call our name. I promise I’ll make something healthy tomorrow.

Kentucky woman -- I've never eaten a brussel sprout -- I've got to try it!

Tonight husband's taking grandson to sports practice since son and wife have a newborn at home. Husband warming up spaghetti with sauce made from a huge tomato crop from our garden. He's happy. I grabbed a 7-layer burrito from Taco Bell on the drive home from work -- skipped lunch today. The only thing I order at Taco Bell.

Well . . . . my back is out, can't stand long enough to cook so tonight is or was going to be a pre-made meal from Costco, "Rana Tagliatelle Grilled White Chicken in Portabella Mushroom sauce". Never had it before and just now read this review. (Should I tell DH this guy's impression? He heard me laughing and asked why. I said I'd tell him later.) It's pretty funny.

This is one of the worst things I've ever eaten. It's so bad that I'm taking the time to write a review to hopefully save others from the same mistake. I only bought it because it was on sale at Costco but this is a delusion of modern consumerism that a discount improves value. It does not. What is marketed as a convenient and tasty meal is in fact recycled household goods. The noodles are greeting card stock fed through a paper shredder then soaked in tap water to loosen the fibers enough to fold without creasing. The sauce is amalgamated mushroom sauce scraped from the finished dinner plates of customers' real chicken mushroom tagliatelle from partnered second tier Italian restaurants. But the ball kicker is the chicken: a salt-flavored dish sponge that has been ripped to pieces by a manic alley cat. Recently, my dog died and my ex got engaged, in the same week, but eating this is what's pushing me over to seeing a therapist.

ETA: As funny as the reviewer was, the dinner wasn't that bad. The sauce was good, the chicken was the usual "grilled" pieces, moist and tasty. The pasta was much like he described and that brought all of it down to a "never again". I'd read the review (howling with laughter to tears) to DH before I served it so he was ready to say "No thanks". Before tasting he asked "Why would you do this to us?" LOL He gave it a polite taste and will make himself something else.

It’s boring around my house most evenings. I cook more once the weather turns cooler.

DH and I eat a late lunch most days so it’s usually lunch leftovers, cereal, yogurt, soup and crackers, or breakfast in the evenings.

When I retired from work, I retired from cooking too. 🙀

@Free2be wrote:

Well . . . . my back is out, can't stand long enough to cook so tonight is or was going to be a pre-made meal from Costco, "Rana Tagliatelle Grilled White Chicken in Portabella Mushroom sauce".

I bought that las tweek and had some for dinner. I agree that this needs to go on the never again list. I almost boiled the noodles separately but then decided to follow the instruction and thought maybe they would soften up. Nope. Worst thing I've ever bought from Costco.
