Do any of you posters have a counter top ice maker? I recently purchased one at Sam's. Nice looking, made by Tramontina. Well it's been running now for an hour and I have less than a glass of ice "cubes" and I'm using the term cubes loosely. I did everything according to the instructions. At this rate, it will take 24 hour to get a small baggie full of ice. I'm pretty sure it's going back.

The top of the line ice makers in refrigerators take at least 90 minutes to make ice.

If your ice maker is new, it can take up to 24 hours for the ice maker to cool down enough to make ice. A new ice maker cannot produce ice until the ice mold temperature cools to about 15 to 16 degrees. Once the ice maker produces ice, it may take a few ice-making cycles to clear the line of air.

@bootsanne I have a counter top ice maker that I had to use last year during a hurricane (plugged into a generator). The ice maker worked but it took a long time (almost 24 hours) for it finally start to make ice. It does not produce as much ice/hour as some of the presentations claim. I purchased from HSN and it does produce ice in three different sizes just takes time.
