Placing Baked Bread on Parchment Paper

I'm planning on baking bread in a 5 x 9 loaf pan as directed. I saw a real cute smallish cutting board I'd like to place it on for a nice presentation.

The parchment paper would go on the bottom of the loaf and placed on the cutting board.

I'd like to make the parchment paper scalloped around the edges or create an appealing presentation to otherwise non-descript parchment. How would I do this? TIA

Have looked into paper doilies. They are round and I prefer an oblong shape. The oblong ones are too big. I am going to have to customize it. All good. This is going to be fun.

Am going to add honey butter and a butter knife to the presentation. Can't wait.

You could overlap two round doilies, something like this:

Are you going to cut the bread on the board? If you are, you would be better off without the parchment paper under it.

@pommom - I agree with @Sooner . . . is there a reason you need/want the parchment paper? I also think adding it would make the bread slide around during transport, which isn't ideal.

Hmmm...very good points. My reason for placing something underneath the bread is strictly sanitary. Even though the cutting board is brand new and will not be used until then, didn't want anyone to think that it had come with 'stuff' embedded in it.

@Sooner You're right - may have to serve it directly on the cutting board. Would you be reluctant to eating bread off someone's cutting board (albeit new - but only I would know). Let me know.

Did a little research. Went online and, much to my surprise, I did not see one loaf of bread - or bread in general - placed on anything other than a cutting board.

Whew! Well, that takes care of that!

For future reference you can buy rectangle doilies in the Wilton cake section of Michaels or Joann. It's never recommended to cut bread on any kind of paper. You can get small pieces in the bread. I like to put a doilie on a nice serving plate and put the sliced bread on it. Just a thought
