Buying David's New Book?

I think I will. Now, I don't ever use a cookbook and in fact, The Joy of Cooking is all I would ever want or need, but David amuses me and is somewhat of a cultural phenom, so I think I will. I have the others.

David Venable, that is.

I think it will be a good book, but I don't use cookbooks any more. Just cook for one. I still have a lot of old cookbooks if needed, plus I can look for some info online. I'm sure David's book will be another huge success.

I bought his first two cookbooks but I won’t buy this one. I’m done buying cookbooks. I wish him great success with this one too.

I have his other cook books! I like David. My sister likes him so I want to buy his book for her as a gift.

No interest in buying his book. I love David but I bought his first & I don't think I've even looked at it since the day it arrived.

The one cookbook I've made a lot of great recipes from was MaryBeth Roe cookbook from many many years ago.

Personally, I no longer buy cookbooks due to I have so many I can't even give them away. Our library system won't even take them🙁 most will see the donation center.

Interestingly, We have a library in our clubhouse -- I guess many are in the same situation and they put them in the "donation" box. In our newsletter they had a letter from the lady who manages it ::: please do not give the library cookbooks -- we don't want them. We have donated the ones left to Goodwill.

I used to like buying cookbooks.....but I no longer do.....Only cooking for hubby now and he likes how I cook and isn't into trying new recipes....

I still enjoy cookbooks but I don't often eat "comfort" food or make desserts. It is not my life style.

I really don't have room for more books. But the reason I won't buy this book is because I hardly ever use short cuts except canned tomatoes. So this would be wasted on me.

@Sweetbay magnolia I just bought it! David's a hoot! I love to read cookbooks, just for fun and to maybe learn something new. I have his other two and have made some of the recipes. Actually, I get most of my recipes online or just make them up, but there is something so comforting about paging through a cookbook on a rainy or snowy day.

I did not know that his new cookbook was now being offered. I collect cookbooks, so I will probably order. I read them as some people read novels.

For those who want to get rid of their cookbooks, there is not a great market for them. However, The Kitchen Witch in New Orleans sometimes buys them but can also direct you to places where you could sell/donate.

Just pre-ordered it. I've been away on vacation so haven't been online too much or watching TV, so thank you for the "heads up" on this. Maybe I had a Q e-mail that I missed while on "electronic break" because I do own his two previous books.

No not buying it--I don't use cookbooks much anymore--got rid of at leaast 100 a few years ago--like to use the web for my recipes.

I'm going to pass since I just donated 25 to Goodwill a few months ago. Like the others, I look online for new recipies that interest me. Good luck David, I'm sure you will sell hundreds of thousands.

I bought it! I find that when looking for recipes online, have to jot them down so I remember what to do (not really a good cook).

So, I prefer cookbooks and a shortcut cookbook is just up my ally!

No more cookbooks for me. No longer need them.

I have an Amazon Show in my kitchen. And all recipies I’m interested in are read out from Alexa with step by step prep directions, and includes pictures. Hands free.

Save all my recipes online. So liberating.

I have donated to Goodwill Thrift Shop all of my 500 cookbooks,except one. The only cookbook I now own is The Joy of Cooking.

While I love David and would love to support his book sales, I won't be purchasing. I no longer buy cookbooks. I would rather put my $$ somewhere else and I just don't have the room to store them. I donated all my cookbooks years ago and gained back that space.

I've gone completely digital with cookbooks, books in general, magazines and music. No need for finding storage for them and I can access any recipe I want on the internet. It wasn't cost effective for me to buy a cookbook and maybe find a handful of recipes that might interest me. I can go on the internet and almost instantly find exactly what I'm looking for.

That said, I wish David the best of luck and I hope that his book is wildly successful.

Nope, not buying this cookbook. It isn't my style of cooking. I don't used pre-packaged ingredients in the majority of my cooking or baking.

I am pleased for David that he sold so many today. I know he and his team spent a great deal of time putting it together. I doubt I will purchase because trying to keep my collection of all books to a minimum. Not as young as I once was and taking books and other things to donation places is getting harder for me. Anyway, did purchase Chef Tony's cookbook and have enjoyed looking through it even though I paid $5.50 shipping and it took forever to get here. I do not think people who are not using the QCard should be penalized and have to pay shipping go David's Cookbook.

I no longer have MBR cookbooks but the one recipe I make on a regular basis is her Norwegian Pancakes. I have it commited to memory. I usually reduce the sugar by 1/4 cup these days.
