@pommom I just had an online chat with Stouffers. The wraps are NOT being discontinued. Maybe your store is not going to carry them anymore.

@pommom all our Krogers were bought out and they have reduced the price of many items on shelves. They are still doing commercials for them and the store I buy from said they are not going to be discontinued or they had not been informed. Still a good deal

After posting here, I decided to go back to Kroger to purchase more and ask customer service why the "close out". As it turned out, the buyer was there and she contacted him/her. She was told that one of two things was going on:

1. Stouffers could be re-packaging to sell competitively. (Note: Amazon sells 4/pkt for $9.50+)

2. They may be discontinued.

The c/s lady told the buyer while on the phone that they were selling very fast. She then advised me to keep the envelopes and come by later to submit a re-stocking request to which the wrappers would be attached.

Anyway, folks. Made 2 chicken breasts as instructed with the lemon/herb seasoning and they were SO GOOD! Make sure the breast is no more than 1" in thickness. I used the meat cleaver, but evidently missed a spot. Had to microwave 2 minutes to ensure it was thoroughly cooked.

@pommom Sounds as if you are going to be lucky and keep your Krogers store. I can't wait to try these wraps. Have watched commercials and wondered how good they were. Now I have another EASY way to fix a meal.

I just read this online too: Why do these wraps even exist? from Five Fifths Culture.

Do people really find the time and effort

of sprinkling seasonings on fish, meat

or poultry so exhausting that they feel

its necessary to purchase seasoned

pieces of paper to wrap and cook

their food in? I also wondered if

cooking in rolling paper for food

is good for our health? There are

probably chemicals fuming from

the paper directly into your food!

Fish is often cooked in parchment paper.

Are these wraps made of the same thing, with just some seasoning added? Not familiar with the product.

@novamc1 It's a little thicker than parchment paper but same concept. You don't enclose the meat entirely, it open on one side.

Cook one side then turn over and cook the other side.

These were mentioned here before and I have yet to find them in my area. I looked for a while and then forgot about them. Not my interest is renewed and I have to go on the hunt again.

They look really good and nice and easy. I love trying new things.

They seem to get good reviews. They seem to be cheaper then buying all the spices.
