Question re TSV - California Innovations Insulated Totes

Mine arrived today, and I'm pretty impressed so far. I got Heather Berry, and the color is beautiful. The totes seem to be pretty well-made, too, and I love the variety of sizes

I have a question for those who also have these: What is the purpose of the strap that goes down the back of the large and small totes? There are snaps that connect to it, but don't seem to serve any purpose. Does anyone know? Not a big deal - Just curious!

enter the item number...there's a video....is it the strap to use in a grocery cart?
