Did someone pass away?

I was out all evening, but got a call from my mom who just walked in the room when David said something about 'mamma passed away'. She said the mood was somber, and I think Stacy was with him.

Can anyone tell me the whole of what my mom thought she heard?

There was something on here a day or so ago about was it a woman who wrote cookbooks with mamma in her name. I can't remember her whole name.

Sad to hear of Mamma Dip's passing. I have one of her cook books and her fried chicken recipe is wonderful.

I cannot imagine why the mood, on ITKWD, would be somber or sad.

Mildred Council was almost 90 years old and did remarkable things with her life......EVERYONE dies and most never reach 90 or leave a legacy of extraordinary accomplishments. .......A joyful celebration and rememberance

of Mama Dip seems more appropriate.

The initial recognition of the death of anyone, regardless of their age and legacy, should be first met with somber or sad feelings. Even those we pray will pass, to end their suffering, should have at least a moment of sadness in our hearts, for the pain their loved ones will be experiencing, and for our own loss of them and their place in our lives, or the contributions they made to society.

Any less is cold and unfeeling.

The celebration of their life comes after that.

I mean what would you expect? A happy dance as he announces her passing? Geez.

@Danky I agree that fond remembrance and celebration of her life is exactly what that woman would have wanted. She will always be an American treasure!

OH, okay, sure......I don't think of you now so I certainly won't think of you at the time but I promise I'll celebrate her wonderful life anyway.
