I was reading some of the reviews of the Vitamix blenders. I sort them from bad ratings to good regardless of what item I am researching. Does it bother anyone else that items get bad ratings because a customer wants, let's say, variable speed, and orders a model that does not have a variable speed option--and the description and show is explicit that it does not a variable speed motor. Or they want a pulse button, and nothing in the pictures is labeled "pulse", nor does the presentation show anything being pulsed. Complaints that it is too tall to fit under the counter when they buy the 64 ounce container, and not the models that are advertised for under the counter. I have noticed this with other items, like make-up and clothing. I don't understand when people don't do their homework on products, order the wrong thing, and then blames the vendors by giving bad reviews on the products. That is why when something has bad ratings, I read them first to find out if it's the product or the users.

I appreciate the bad reviews when there is a legit reason for them, especially when there are multiple bad reviews indicating a specific problem. Sometimes, in clothing, they help because if people complain that the waist measurement is larger than expected, I may be interested in that style because of my body type!

I agree! People are too lazy to do a little reading and research before buying something. User failure does not mean a product is bad. Nor does a person just not liking something once they tried it out. In my opinion the only reason a bad review should be left is a defect or malfunction of an item. Everything else is just opinion and stupidity for not making sure you are buying a product with the features you were looking for.

I totally agree with everyone! I don't understand why QVC even allows those reviews to be put up on their site. They must read them first to at least evaluate whether the review says something that shouldn't be published. A review should be if you have the item and have used the item. I too saw reviews on David's cookbook before it was even published. It makes absolutely no sense.

That really annoys me. I can't believe some of the complaints I've read in reviews - some of that info is clearly stated in the description, or even in the item title, for pete's sake!

Posters do it all the time. For instance a purse is too heavy, the straps are too short, it has tassels, it's too small etc when all the information is posted in the description and gone over & over in the presentations. I noticed this in a recent tsv which is why I used it for an example. Same with the Kindle regarding the camera. One lady bought it especially to take pictures. On kitchen products I generally go to Amazon to read the reviews. I am interested more in how long the product lasted than if it has a pulse button.

There is a lot of it that one must take with a huge grain of salt. They need a course here on how to write a review.

I've read some that had a whole big old paragraph of emotional drivel and personal krap and I think they forget to include any actual facts about the product, by the time they finish telling their life story.

I see so many that get 3 stars because they don't know if it is good or not because they haven't used it yet or it was a gift to someone else, so they rate it in the middle. That burns me up.

I appreciate everything and anything people say in their reviews. It may bring to my attention something I didn't even think of. I read all reviews good and bad and even though something may have a 90% approval that 10% that are unsatisfactory are very important to me. Currently I'm considering a Vitamix so I'm looking not only at QVC's reviews but I also look on Amazon and anywhere else that sells them. There are some great reviews but there are also some horrible ones where the machine motor burned out within 4 years. I spend a great deal of time researching something before I buy it.

I can, however, appreciate what the OP is saying. I remember buying a cardigan and the description was "fine gauge animal print cardigan". Someone gave it a bad review because she thought the fabric was thin!!! Well, gosh - it called: "find gauge" in the description!!!!

I also think it's ridiculous to post a review when you just got it out of the package a few minutes ago. There should be a wait time before reviews can be posted.
