I got rid of my old Corning Ware a long time ago because LC is so much easier to clean. I put mine in the sink with hot water, let it soak awhile and the cooked on stuff just comes off. I used to scrub and scrub on the Corning wear, especially that little baked on stuff that gets on the handles.

It sure if beautiful....I have a large pie dish by them...purchased at Whole Foods yrs ago...I knew nothing about this line or how to care for it properly. Baked many apple pies in it....but found things stuck to it. I always had to soak it abit in water and use a very gentle scrubbie thing I have. Cleaned up fine then but I have so many of the marks on the interior...guess its from using a metal knife to slice pie. It looks awful...I'd be upset if that happened to this TSV. I heard the guy say to use something to remove the marks but can't recall what it is! Doubt it would fix my old pie dish.

Went to an LC outlet today and came home with the prettiest little 2.5-qt. heart-shaped cocotte with stainless steel knob, in a delightful color called "mint"--sort of a seafoam green/blue color. I was so charmed by the color that I just had to have it.

Was half-price, so it came to $107. I have a similar-sized round dutch oven in blue purchased years ago at an LC outlet and paid much more for it.

The outlet was selling the same size version as the TSV, but it didn't have the stainless knob (worth $18-$19 alone) and was priced at $129. Also wasn't available in all the QVC colors.

So if you need the size being offered by QVC, it's a pretty good bargain. I already own one that size, or I'd be buying it.

Heavy weight is what helps LC make foods cook and taste better. The weight does seem a little inconvenient at times, but there are some things I will cook in a stainless steel piece, and some dishes I wouldn't consider cooking in anything except a piece of LC.

I also use Corning casseroles, but again, will only use those for certain things.
