Love Ranch Dressing? $35,000 Worth?

This month, one very lucky fan of ranch dressing will win his or her own special bottle of the condiment decorated in gold, diamonds, and sapphires. What exactly that winner will do with the bottle is anyone's guess.

Hidden Valley, the company that invented ranch dressing in the '50s, announced this week that it would celebrated National Ranch Day (a holiday they seem to have created) in quite a unique way.

It will be giving away a single bottle of dressing — valued at a whopping $35,000 — to one winner on Twitter.

The bottle looks a bit like a fancy glass decanter, except for the Hidden Valley Ranch logo on the front.

Sapphires crawl up the sides and around the neck, and the stopper is made of 18k white gold set with diamonds.

And if the top looks a bit like a crown, that's not a mistake: The bottle was released in part to in honor of the upcoming royal nuptials.

'Hidden Valley Ranch is honoring the great pairing of a fellow famous American with British royalty, as well as those who royally love ranch, with a diamond, sapphire and 18 carat white gold encrusted glass bottle — the only way to serve America's favorite ranch to royalty,' says the press release.

The company actually commissioned two of these bottles. One will be 'sent on a journey overseas' while the other is up for grabs for a single fan.

Hopefuls will need to follow the brand's Twitter account and watch for a post about the bottle on Saturday, March 10. They will then have through March 19 to retweet it for a chance to win.

@KingstonsMom You bet I love Ranch dressing! Top Secret Recipes has several great Ranch recipes for various restaurants that sell the Ranch dressing we all love.

If you go on their website, Top Secret Recipes, you can find some of them for free.

I have made a few of them. One of my favorites is "Outback Ranch". It's always time consuming, and it was a one-time thing. Boy! Was it good though. Slight variations here and there.

I have several of the 'Top Secret Restaurant Recipes' cookbooks and I love them!

A lot of the recipes are so authentic to the restaurant's version, IMO.

I'd pocket the $35,000 and keep buying the regular Hidden Valley Ranch dressing, LOL!

I absolutely hate ranch dressing and there aren’t many things I won’t eat, but this is one. It tastes too much like milk...Yuck!

Who would want a fancy expensive salad dressing bottle? If it has a value of $35,000, you would owe income tax on that amount. You could never sell it for $35,000, so if you found someone who would want it....perhaps a jeweler who would remove the gems, you would have to sell it for less than it is worth.

You might come out ahead if the income taxes you owed were less than what you could sell it for.

i wonder who came up with this idea. It’s pretty lame.
