The Happy Dance

I know a lot of folks here complain from time to time about this "dance" but I see it as a bit of show business, maybe showmanship, but I also see someone who seems genuinely happy with his life and his job and wants to share that feeling.

It occurs to me that if more of us made use of David's happy dance in our own kitchens, we might feel more happiness by physically expressing an appreciation of a food or a meal or other things that inspired us to dance.

I'll be cooking this afternoon and I think I might do my first-ever happy dance to try out this theory!

I like David a lot and enjoy his kitchen shows. I look forward to his shows and watching him.

Love David's happy dance and I think you're right @GingerPeach, more of those happy dances in one's home surely makes for a happy home.

@GingerPeach I love the happy dance and I do it myself from time to time.I learned it from my son who always did one when he got a special treat when he was young.

I agree, I think he's funny and he is happy!! Nothing wrong with doing a dance.

Being a cancer survivor, I have that sign "dance like no one is watching" on the mantle in my living room, I could dance everyday

"Showmanship" is right!

Whether you love his style, or you think he's the biggest cornball, you have to admit he's a master showman.

And if you're in sales you study David.

He's proven that being "so pleased to bring you the opportunity to buy..." , lots of color and sales updates, and an occasional happy dance is a winning combination that keeps shoppers coming back for more!

I expect to see that happy dance. It wouldn't be complete without it. I also think David feels he has to do it -- that it's what the vendor waits for. It would be kind of hard for him not to do it.

Don't laugh , but back in the day, I wanted David to invite me to PA and take me out on a date and show me the sights there.

You can tell a lot about a guy by the way he treats his mother. He is so loving and kind to his. While he does his HAPPY DANCE, I'll do a little DISCO DUCK!

My cat Junior does his version of a happy dance for treats. He stands up on his hind legs, I grab his front legs with my hands, and we do a spin. (I will have to try to get a picture sometime and share it)

I think of David's happy dance often when something good happens. It gives one an opportunity to not just pause and reflect on our blessings, but to express that good feeling in an outward display of joy. Happy dances should happen everyday, in and out of the kitchen. Have a happy dance day everyone!

I love David. I'm sure Q has scripts for the hosts but compared to HSN, some of them are a real breath of fresh air. I know their thing is to sell sell sell but sometimes it's nice to see hosts doing a sales pitch and not preaching about a product. Dance on David!

Same. It doesn't bother me if people dance around in the kitchen or while selling their clothing designs. I'd rather see happy people than robots. Silly keeps us sane.

To me the antics, the products and the people are just the same old same old tired routine. What might have been amusing a time or two is simply the most worn out thing I can imagine. But apparently it is "comfort food" to a lot of people.

I bet there's an uptick in sales each time he performs his happy dance. This is David's shtick. If the day ever comes where it ceases to produce its intended results, it will be dropped like a hot potato.
