Have been hearing this word a lot lately and now one of my granddaughters mentioned on Facebook that she really wants one. She is a pastry chef so I'm wondering just what this instapot is. I haven't had a chance to talk to her yet so I'm kind of in the dark, but very interested. I'm sure we'll be seeing them on QVC before long!

Do any of you have one? How do you use it? How would you rate it?

Thanks for your time and Happy New Year!

Yes, I have an Instapot. I've had it for years and cook everything it.

It's great for those of us who don't like having to wash lots of dirty pots n' pans b'cz U can cook an entire meal in one pot - and it's easy to clean.

Edit:

And, yes, I use it everyday. I rarely use pots n' pans.

It is called an Instant Pot (IP) not instapot. It is a cooker that has multiple functions including a pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, saute, steamer, yogurt maker and depending on which model you have, it may also have an egg cooker, cake cooker, and sterilizer. I have two of them - the IP Duo60 6qt 7-in-1 and the IP Duo Plus 6qt 9-in-1. I use them a few times a week.

I eat a vegan diet and cook most of my own food. I no longer buy canned beans. In the IP, I cook large batches of beans and freeze them for later use. I do not need to soak them over night. I cook a variety of lentil, yellow split pea, green split pea recipes in the IP. I also cook sweet potatoes and winter squash in it. I make my own soy yogurt in it.

It is the best kitchen appliance I have ever bought and have used the most. The best place and time to buy one.is on Amazon if you are a Prime member is on Prime Day in July, Black Friday in November, and Cyber Monday in November. It is always on sale on those days. I believe it was this past Prime Day that the IP was the #1 selling item on Amazon and during the holidays it was the #1 selling kitchen item.

I love it and highly recommend it. Other companies have come up with their own version of the IP that may or may not cost less. You can learn more about it and read reviews about it on Amazon.

I have not tried cooking dried beans I buy the canned works for me.

but the freezing sounds interesting because they can go bad quickly if you don't use them.

I will buy beans on sale

so please tell me more about how you freeze them

and I will give you a nice bean recipe in the IP
