Trader Joe's is Pure Evil

Went there this morning and noticed quite a few new nice things but was able to restrain myself from buying until I came to the tasting station where they had this pecan-chocolate bar (about the size of those Entenman cakes). Of course I just had to try it. And you can guess the rest.

And there I am determined to lose about 10-15 lbs. But that stuff is scrumptious. And if they didn't let you sample it, I certainly would not buy it.

I try not to taste the samples on display at Costco or Trader Joe’s.Once I do I get drawn in too!!

I guess you're making a joke; but naming the store in your headline doesn't seem fair to the company. They did nothing wrong business wise.

You are not alone, I don't have a Trader Joe's in my area, however I went for groceries at Walmart this week and succumbed to their pumpkin cream cheese rolls. I'm so weak. LOL.

@NicksmomESQ we are addicted to Costco's Cinnamon Butter bread, it comes in 3's & we have to freeze 2 of them as soon as we get home..to make things worse, we butter slices & grill it on the stove..soo good!

I don't have a Trader Joe's near me, but in the context of this Board I was expecting a comment about temptingly delicious food from the title of this thread and never thought of it being anything negative. As a matter of fact, I was instantly reminded of the NEWS RADIO episode where good guy Dave described himself as "pure evil" and I opened the thread smiling.

I appreciate your concern, but I hope most readers did not expect a slam. Seems like our posters flag complaints pretty clearly.

I sample most items in Trader Joes & Costco - but rarely buy once I look at the ingredient list !! The sodium level is usually through the roof- I watch sugars and fats too. One item I bought at Costco was Chicken Tikka Masala- really good, and I'm generally not a fan of Indian food. And at Trader Joes- they recently had Butternut Squash Parmingina. Delish and the ingredient list was impressive !!

TJ's has a lot of their seasonal pumpkin items now. I love their pumpkin waffles !!

Think of going to TJ as viewing a horror flick. Do I look with both eyes opened and risk the temptation of viewing all those new goodies? Perhaps one hand covering eyes and just steal a quick peek? Do I dare reach out with my hands to take a sample? OH the HORROR of it all. What to do - what to do?

I have to take the subway and am limited by what I can carry. Of course most of the time, I don't have an ice pack in the summer so all those frozen treats are off limits. But Winter is coming lol.

@Ibby114 ~ I have a box and a half in the freezer now. I had to get the extra box in case I finished mine and they were gone for the season.

I also got pumpkin soup, pumpkin crackers, little pumpkin cakes, pumpkin cereal bars, pumpkin body butter. I almost got the pumpkin ravioli but resisted. I'm currently looking for a pumpkin-lovers anonymous support group. I need help, lol!

Well, it seems to be a large part junk food. It's not some place I go more than a couple of times a year, and even then don't buy much.

TJ's is over an hour away for me and I made the trek yesterday. I was rather disappointed as I expected more fall/holiday items. They didn't even have much "pumpkin." Hopefully they come back with kringles and sticky toffee cakes, my two weaknesses. I guess I will have to find an excuse to make the trip in a couple of weeks. That being said I did find the Racine Kringles at Aldi's last week. This week there was still a spot for them but none in stock. First time I have found them there. One can only hope.

I shop at TJ nearly every week. I love their selection of cheeses and many other items. Will be buying a few "pumpkin" items. I like their pumpkin bread mix and pumpkin ice cream. Staff is very helpful and a store that bags your groceries correctly.
