Temp-tations

so what is going on with temptations? hardly any new items for harvest, only the bowl and platter set. then christmas.....the whimsy bowls revamped with a pedestal and some accesories, the large christmas platter with 1 new baking scene. everything is being sent over to tara's online site. only new items are the metal cookware. i feel like shes bailing out of qvc.

After thousands of complaints, it's more likely QVC is easing out of the contract with Tara, not vice versa.

I love Fiesta Ware. I've been collecting it for over 20 years. It's still made in the USA!

All good thins must end . . . and so must TempTations. I don't know just how deeply involved in the bsiness QVC actually is, but short of outright ownership, I feel they are at the very least heavily committed to TT. But though Floral Lace and Old World are probably her best sellers, neither appeals to me. I go back to Pyrex and Corning Ware (which I really like) every time. For me, food always shows up better on white, and since there's no white in TT, I'm out.

Don't forget she started that direct sales company Tara At Home (think Scentsy, Avon, etc.). Maybe her focus is on that right now. Check out the website or the YouTube channel. Lots of different stoneware items on there. Looks like a lot of solid colors and one with a rooster design. I know a lot of people have said they wanted a plain looking pattern. There's where you'll find it.

THis next year should tell a lot about where the QVC/Temp-tations relationship is going.

There were no TSV's this year, and fewer shows in general (and the last few TSVs were dinnerware sets, which I found extremely repetitive). There were no new patterns or continuations of older ones in winter or holiday items (although there was quite a bit of new fall). I saw no Temp-tations home decor shows like they did last year.

This could be a lull in things, as both Tara and Lisa were remarried this past summer, and she started her Tara at Home line, which took her on a cross country tour. We should know by July, if things will be picking up, or if this is the beginning of the fading out of this product line on Q.

IT wouldn't surprise me if Temp-tations takes a back seat, as I believe their sales are slipping at Q. They used to sell out of new items during the presentations, and I don't see that happen anymore. I think they have saturated the market, aren't bringing enough new to interest people, and then there are the ongoing quality issues.

On one of David's recent Sundays shows, she spoke of new items coming out next year. I was looking forward to seeing what they will be.

Yes. Hoping for a vented fruit bowl with plate. They are hard to find at a reasonable price. I've used colanders with a plate under, but it's not very pretty, functional, but that's all. A lovely fruit bowl with holes and matching under plate would be nice. Could also be unsed as a colander, but I've been watching for one as new items are presented and alas, none is out there in this line. Wishing and hoping for something pretty to sit out yet be functional. Hope someone is listening. I keep checking for this type item on other sites but few are out there.

It will be interesting to see if TT is phased out. I think the "collecting" part of it has lost some steam. Of course people that aren't QVC watchers have no idea what TT is unless they see it at thrift stores. Also, I think a lot of people just aren't interested in more dishes, bowls, etc. Younger people don't seem to want this type of item and oldsters like me have enough and no need for more since a lot of us don't cook for a crowd any more. I do have several sets of TT, but no plans to buy more. I have already donated a few pieces that were too large for my current needs.

I have read so many reports of pieces cracking. It would break my heart to get a pretty piece only to have it break. I use trays and bowls, and you're right. We need only so many bowls. I need some new things, not necessarily for baking.

Would love to see individual steak platters avaliable.Maybe sold in sets of two.I have 4 old small platters I use for steak and Mexican dinners.

I hope they do jot discontinue it..I started getting pieces to freshen up my everyday dinnerware. You can purchase it from her home site,but I prefer QVC for the easy returns and safety of credit card use.

I just can't imagine TT leaving QVC or QVC discontinuing their "contract" with TT. I guess it could happen though. They keep saying Tara is bringing in more new items However, it doesn't seem like there has been much new yet--a lot of clearance though. Also, Cooks Essentials (with Blue Jean Chef) has brought in items similar to TT so who knows.

Just wondering with all the new stuff she is set to bring out if QVC will have a TT TSV sometime between now and Christmas. It has been a long time since there was one and the Q used to have one quite regularly in years gone by. Now all we see are copper chef TSVs. I know the quality can be sketchy at times with TT but you have to hand it to Tara and her TTs there are so many patterns, colors, and configuration options over the years. A lot more than you ever see from other similar things like Fiesta, Lenox, Rachael Ray, Cooks Essentials, etc.
